Too often, I’ll end up with a scratch, cut, bruise, burn, back ache and/or tired feet. But I’m compelled! Cooking is my PASSION; feeding people brings me JOY!

Danya of Al Gustito is NOT PLAYING in the kitchen! Her quesabirria tacos were off the chain!!!! The beef was very tender and juicy. And the horchata (rice water beverage) was so tasty, cool and refreshing…we’d never had that before either! The perfect combination.

Danya imparts such flavor and spice without her food being “hot.”

I don’t want anyone to miss out on the goodness, so I’m definitely going to keep you posted the next time she offers them.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers for my mama. She's doing great after her carpal tunnel surgery, and I was able to come home with total peace that she'll continue with a smooth and thorough recovery with my dad and brother looking after her.

Mom is doing great! We got home from her outpatient surgery and she took a little nap. When she woke up, it was 4:45pm so I asked what she wanted me to cook for dinner.

She said she wasn’t hungry.

But I made her two flour dredged, pan fried catfish filets topped with homemade creamed spinach with a little bit of steamed Jasmine rice, and some steamed carrots.

She cleaned her plate 🤣😂

Thank you for all the prayers. She is in good spirits, currently not in any pain.

UPDATE: surgery went well. Mom says, “Thank you for all the prayers!”

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, so y’all better miss me!

Connie’s Home Cooking will be taking off the next couple of weeks while I’m in Washington State to help Mom recovering from her carpal tunnel surgery tomorrow (Thursday). Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers! 😊🙏
