Uncle Peter's Pastie Shelby

Thanks to the Shelby Township Community page for mentioning us in a recent post. I’ve seen a number of new followers and people visiting the page and I’m happy to see the interest in pasties.
If you come in I will never judge the way you pronounce pasties but may direct you to a local pastry shop if you are looking for cakes.
If you’re interested in something hot it’s best to call ahead and order that way you get exactly what you want without waiting around. I look forward to seeing you soon and can’t wait to hear some of your stories.

I’ll be gone attending a memorial for a great man named Robert Linden. Robert was a bicycle race promoter, former owner of Uncle Bob’s Record & Smoke Shop here in Shelby Township and one of the most genuine people I’ve known.

I’ve been back from my cold and ready for St Patrick’s Day! I’ll be here until 4pm today and 10am - 3pm tomorrow.

I picked up a cold this weekend and will remain closed today. I’m having bad luck with illness so far in 2024, sorry if it’s affected your desire for a pastie.

We made it to the Porcupine mountains! The mosquitos are crazy but this state is amazing. I’m looking forward to sharing stories with you all when I get back. Thanks for being patient while I’m closed, see you on Tuesday!

This week my hours will change for hunting season. Biggest change that will effect some people is I will be opening at 11am Tuesday-Saturday rather than 10am. Please be sure to check the hours, hopefully the later days will allow a few people to make it after work. I'll likely keep these hours through December.

All stocked up here and ready for the hunting season! Any hunt camp trips planned or are you looking forward to having the home to your self a few days? Our freezers are full with soups and pasties that are easy to warm up at deer camp or in a duck blind.

In the coming days I'll update my hours for waterfowl season which many of you will appreciate as the store will be open a little later in the day.

New product! Who has had what is known as Trenary Toast? Popular in the UP and known to us due to a bakery in the town of Trenary, this toast is a Finnish shelf stable snack called Korppu.
My version is made with homemade cinnamon sugar swirl bread which is then sliced, slathered with butter, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, then slowly baked until crispy and delicious.
My version will be called Disco Toast! Can anyone tell me why I would call it by what is kind of a silly name?
