When patients schedule an appointment for a consultation or a treatment and it is their first time considering non-invasive anti-aging treatments (think botox and fillers here), 95% of them say they are anxious. When I ask why, they say they are afraid it will hurt and they don’t want to look like they’ve had stuff done (aka they want to look natural). I think these treatments are not as painful as some may think. Here are some of the things I do to decrease the pinch of the needle: I switch my needle out often to minimize using a dull needle or use a cannula (no sharp needle involved once in the skin). I use a strong numbing cream where indicated and offer a distraction device to help offset the pinch of the needle. I will talk to you during the treatment and let you know when to expect things if that helps you, too! Also, please note: I will never let you look weird or odd or not like yourself.
