Members of our Evansville team recently presented the American Red Cross with a check to support those impacted by the tornado that struck nearby Posey County, Indiana on July 9th. The strongest of seven to hit that day, the tornado displaced many families in Mount Vernon and the surrounding area. This initiative will assist those families as they continue to recover from the damage.
Pictured are Regional President, John Lamb, Market President, Lindsay Botsch, President & CEO of the local American Red Cross, Beth Sweeney, Wealth Advisor, Logan Baumann, and Commercial Banking team member, Steve Walker. To help keep you safe and secure, this month’s Friday Fraud Awareness highlights some common summer travel scams. Don't forget to apply your sunblock and follow these tips to avoid getting burned by scammers!
🏖 Summer vacation season is a prime time for phishing campaigns that promote fake travel offers. Avoid clicking on unexpected links received via email or text. If a deal seems too good to be true, it likely is!
💳 When paying in advance for accommodations or transportation, have heightened awareness for how payment is requested. Be wary of non-traditional payment methods like gift cards, crypto, and unfamiliar peer-to-peer payment requests.
😎 When taking in the sights on vacation, keep a close watch on your belongings. Consider using a bag that can be kept close to your person like a cross-body or f***y pack. Keep the number needed to cancel a check card or credit card handy should your belongings or card be left behind or stolen.
