Pinched nerve and all, took a short ride up the road from the farm at Shelby Trails, I hadn’t been there in a while and wow have they added to the riding area. Good, short ride on Jewel with Alison on Midnight and Carrie on Emmy. Love my barn folks!

6am ride, beautiful 🤩

2nd ride at Wranglers, trail #3. Took another early morning ride to beat the heat. Beautiful trail.
Pro of Wranglers— like the trails, short, long, and many trails out.
Cons—no cell service at all (even with hot spot), need water on both ends of barns.

And what do you do when it’s too hot to ride—visit the Purple Toad Winery and Casey Jones Distillery!

Wranglers Trail 1. To avoid heat and bugs, we were on the trail by 6:30am (thank goodness for my “Mean Bean”! Nice ride, not too hot yet

By far, the lake at the Deam Lake Horse Camp is so beautiful and right out the back door. Rilynn really got a kick out of playing around in the waters edge.

You can’t beat the lake horse camp sites. I love waking up to this view

Every time I pass this tree more ornaments are added. Merry Christmas in June!

Valentina is doing great, love the Paso fino ride.

Taylorsville Lake Equestrian Sites good and bad:
Good: Sites are large, drive-they, flat, graveled, shaded, clean.

Bad:
Also allowing regular campers to camp there, only 2 horse trailers in 10 spots

Not able to reserve online, you have to physical “walk in” to get a site so you don’t know till you get there if there is a site

Day 4: Mammoth Cave Horse Camp

Making the bed in a camper is not an easy task. Staying for a weekend …not a big deal. Living in camper it’s a huge deal. Recommend a bed in a bag which I don’t have but will have soon. Can’t stand a messy bed.

Couldn’t be happier with my new paso, Valentina. Pasos have always been my favorite breed, Went a different way for a while but now I’m back. Thank you Ricky Mendoza for finding the right horse for me right now.

4 suppers in camp and still haven’t had to cook inside yet. Tip…Reynolds’s wrap always on hand is a must.

Realized that I don’t have the supplies for s’mores but have a fire to fix them. Put that on the list!

Reid's Livery Winery in Alvaton, KY, but far one of my favorite wineries. Quaint place, down to earth owners, and all terrific wines. Hard to choose which one so we got 3. One hour from MCHC but worth the drive!
