...and I think this is a wrap for summer 2024, where slowly, one by one, our amazing summer peeps are starting to leave us and we will soon be "bare-boned" with our equally amazing year-round team. You guys, we will surely miss you and hope you return to visit at least! Our STARS CAFE team will slowly get back to the off-season routine, still busy with work, focusing on our beloved local clients, preparing daily meals, soups and favorite beverages for everyone.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!! IN THE ANTICIPATION OF INCLEMENT WEATHER TOMORROW, SATURDAY 07/13/24 we will NOT be at the Farmers Market tomorrow due to the fragile nature of our product. We are relocating it just this once to our health shop in the cellar of STARS CAFE where you'll be able to purchase all the regular products of the market - pies, quiches, pastries, coffee, and more... the entrance is on the LEFT from the main door, into the basement. All the pickups will happen there too!

We just had our first SUMMER 2024 STAFF MEETING with Gayle making her delicious sushi from Pepe's freshly caught tuna fish and lots of laughs together. We like to think we are prepared for you, your cake orders, caterings, sushi orders, food truck requests or your daily coffee visits. We are happy to have Jen and Gayle lead our summer team: Millie from England, Alina & Anastasia from Ukraine, and our own 2 kids - Emi & Sebi whom you already might know. We are so excited for you to meet them, stop by to say hello!

Summer 2024, bring it on! We've started our journey on Shelter Island in 2006 and slowly have built our small business from the ground up. It sure hasn't been easy, nor it has always been fun. But we persisted and have complemented one another at home and at work. Pepe is an early bird, opens up the shop by starting to bake as early as 4am every single day. I am a night owl and much rather does the closing shift, followed by late night baking and decorating at home. Pepe takes care of the mechanics of the shop, I focus on the presentation, finesse and marketing. He is the Ying, I am the Yang ☯️ and together we have managed to build up a successful business by being consistent and always at service to others. We are a happy and dynamic husband+wife duo living by the famous motto: "BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL MAN THERE'S HIS WIFE ROLLING HER EYES!" We wouldn't trade the Shelter Island community for anything else! Of course, we have a strong and dependable team behind us, who we can trust and rely on. Without them, we would be burnt out. We will slowly present our team to you over the upcoming days. Stay tuned and happy summer 2024!

I have not been idle today! All this and 2 wedding cakes that still need to be finished tomorrow but these are going to their owners now! Happy birthday and thank you all for your support.
🍓 🍰 is my personal favorite to make AND taste as well and it's a summer bestseller in our shop. However Pavlova - although quite simple to make - can be tricky and give you a real hard time especially in a humid weather! It's also not a dessert that can be ordered last minute as it needs at least a day or two (even more in humid weather) to slowly bake on low temperature and dry.
I almost gave up on this one but all is well that ends well... please give us a like, share, and keep supporting our small family business! You're all greatly appreciated! ❤️ 😍
