Backpack chairs are quite strange... )
Decided to play around with the latest trends - Artificial Intelligence.
Asked AI to design a beach backpack chair for us.
Here's what we got :)
That was very funny!
We completed the brand registry procedure, and for now, we are replacing the brand name in your listing with the actual one.
We are registering our brand name in parallel with creating the listing and preparing the account for the work. This is a standardized practice, and it accelerates the working process essentially.
Then I immediately asked the designer to make the second option of ex*****on where inscriptions are located right from the logo for the set.
Here you can see the result.
So we've changed the brand name according to our common choice - now it's PiQuick )
And then our designer offered several options for the logo with the written slogan.
I chose this one: with one line, written in italics, on the right and below.
I continue the generation of ideas for our brand name.
I already invented an overall view and the name of our logo, now I also invented a motto – Activating rest.
It probably represents the essence of our brand very well – we work to activate the rest of people, to „turn it on“.
I asked designers to add it to the logo.
It's much better I think.
And this is a result.
Now we need to choose the final version of our logo
As promised - a number of different logos for us from our designer. My main idea was taken as a basis.
Without a brand name, just the name of our company.
Today we voted for the brand name:
20% voted in favor of Pines’n’Palms
and
80% voted in favor of PiQuick.
PiQuick is a cool name; it is short, simple, sounding, and the good idea is laid as the foundation (Like a quick picnic: a person has come, unfolded a tablecloth, and that’s it! Everything is already prepared) 😊
Our lawyer has checked the following names for registering the brand preliminarily.
Free names:
1. outdoor
2. VAC
3. BTBF
4. Pines-n-Palms
5. Pic Quick or PiQuick
6. ChillTime
7. LegsUp
8. Rammel
9. Teton-G
10. YellowStow
In our opinion, the most suitable names are Pines-n-Palms; ChillTime; YellowStow, and Pic Quick/PiQuick.
What kind of associations can appear with goods for active rest?
Backpack chairs, beach umbrellas, hammocks, tents, fishing rods, barbecues, etc. – all these things?
The words that have come into my mind first are:
outdoor (literally. in the open air, outside the house, outside the walls, under the open sky);
wherever (in what place soever /no matter where you are);
VAC (shortened from vacation - rest);
Seren (shortened from serene - undisturbed);
BTBF (an abbreviation derived from Born To Be Free); but this seems to sound heavy like a name of a bank or a TV channel;
Vast (literally reaches);
Pines-n-Palms (literally Palms and pines as a reference to the statement that it is possible to use our products both by the sea and in the forest lawn);
Pic Quick of PiQuick (This means something like a quick picnic: a person has come, unfolded a tablecloth, and everything is prepared).
As a result of a large brainstorm, we invented about 50 various brand names with our team; later we will select finalists from them, in the course of several rounds of voting.
After that, it will be necessary to select these variants from them which were not patented by anybody so that no troubles with the violation of copyright appear.

4) The absence of negative implied sense. The name can have up to several interpretations at once but without any negative implied sense.
5) The correspondence with place, territory, or country. If the restaurant is declared as „U Fontana“ (near the fountain) it must be located near the fountain.
6) Neologisms can be used; this means invented words. Phantasy words can be registered easily, and they cannot be faked. Google, OxyOlogy, etc. represent this example of naming.
Another kind of neologism is truncating. It is an interesting technique; a whole word is taken for it, then it is truncated and divided into parts. The truncation can be applied also to several words; these words are cut into parts, and a new naming is glued together from them. The naming of the Fanta brand was created from the word „fantastic”; this means fantastic, with the implied sense of „taste“.
7) Abbreviations. Abbreviations, first letters of the full name of the company are often used for naming: BMW, CNN. A short abbreviation is memorable quickly, and it is written easily.
Because of this, I just hope that after we will select the stylistics of the logo and the font for that, we will make our efforts and invent anything for the brand name.

2) Sonority. The name has to sound well. It must be short and laconic, readable well, and be pronounced intelligibly. It is recorded easily; its name must be easily readable, writable, and audible.
3) Uniqueness. The company name must not be registered before and used among other companies. This is probably the main constituent part of naming that must be inimitable not only in the area of the brand but also in other areas. No brand with such a name must preferably exist in its area, region, or even worldwide.
Uniqueness is a pledge of development, an index of the trademark.
In my subjective opinion supported by my business experience, I want to tell that a brand name based just on the name of the company by itself is not a very good option, and the reason is the following.
The main principles of naming are the following:
1) Stylistics, correspondence of the concept.
The name is a mirror, a reflection of style, idea, the product’s essence, and the activity area.
The task of description is to describe the area where the company is working; which goods is it manufacturing or which services it offers, or to show any peculiarity that highlights it among its competitors. The description makes it possible to understand in which area the brand is carrying out its activity, and what is its difference from its competitors. The name makes it possible to guess the status, prices, and positioning of the company. The brand name can also call definite associations of the consumer that make it possible to understand the area of the activity of the company and its peculiarities.
What will buyers associate our brand with?
With the outdoor recreation?
With freedom, fresh air, sun, and palms?..
We had real debates among our team members.
Before we began to agree upon our logo, I decided to notice the importance of the question concerning the name of the brand by itself.
The professional naming is always remarkable additionally, and it sells!
The unsuccessful name slows the sale increase down.
The designer has sent us options of logos for approval. He took my drafts as a basis.

Video of the 2nd (blue) sample. In the batch:
- the canopy design will be silvery.
- all straps will be black.
Finally, we received a sample of our chair from our new supplier.
The color of the canopy is only black. In the batch, the color will be silvery.
And hook-and-loop fasteners will also be black in the batch.
We have a good sample, and the blue color has a good appearance!
The technical listing is ready – we entered technical characteristics and the description of the good in the card. Based on this we will be able to start choosing an Amazon warehouse hereafter.
It would be good to get the warehouse located as close to ports of arrival as possible (New York or Los Angeles); this will help us to save logistics costs additionally; but Amazon randomly offers its warehouses, as luck would have it.
We booked several warehouses for our goods:
1. New York
2. Wisconsin
3. California
The main process: The batch is being produced.
Parallel processes: We are collecting key requests for creating a semantic kernel in the advertising account.
The final result of the brainstorming is that we do not have to rest upon our preferences but we have to try to rely on the sale analytics on the Amazon platform.
It is always better to listen to our customers and know what they like more.
We still do not choose the chair for our home but choose things that will be bought by other people best of all.
Based on the results of the voting the results are the following:
14% voted in favor of the decision to continue working with the old supplier but to accept the term delay.
86% voted in favor of the decision to change the supplier (and the color of the product) but to try to shorten the launch term.
We are selecting a new color with our team.
We wanted to take the noble grey color from the first supplies but the new supplier does not have such type of fabric. The quality of the fabric by itself is the same; it seems to be that we will only change the color.
Members of our team differ in their options on which color they can choose.
Initially, we wanted to take the grey chair color because the essence of the positioning was that we could use both the beach option and the camping option in such a way.
Anybody likes the dark blue color and anyone likes the light-blue color.
It seems to us that the blue theme refers to the beach more.
One of our partners proposed to make 2 colors of chairs at the same time.
However, this idea was rejected by the majority of voices. It seems to us, it will be more difficult and more expensive to promote 2 kinds of goods at once when starting the business.
Although we have only one model of the chair, two colors are still two different goods from the point of view of promotion.
We have a chair sample in our office, and we like everything!
This is a perfect beach chair. Therefore, we are placing an order for the batch.
In parallel, we are implementing all processes on registration at the Amazon marketplace, adjusting a personal account, and marketing account.

We've received some photos from our supplier. And we're happy about it.
Despite the delay with the sample, we are not changing our plans for a time being.
