Farewell to Scotty.
Mr. Homer A. Scott, or as many of us affectionately knew him, “Scotty,” was more than just the creator of The Powder Horn; he was the heartbeat of our community.
When he and his beloved wife first set eyes on The Powder Horn in 1993, they fell in love with more than just the picturesque landscape. They saw the potential for something extraordinary—a place where dreams would be woven into the very fabric of our lives. What Scotty created at The Powder Horn wasn’t just a golf course; it was a haven where people fall in love, get married, raise children, laugh over dinner and drinks, and forge lifelong friendships. It’s where generations of families have come together to celebrate life’s milestones, create cherished moments, and yes, enjoy countless rounds of golf— His passion for creating a place of beauty, camaraderie, and joy will forever resonate in the laughter that fills our clubhouse, the love that surrounds our weddings, and the enduring friendships forged on our greens.
And though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit, his love, and his legacy are etched into every corner of The Powder Horn. Scotty is, was, and always will be our Powder Horn.
We’re sure going to miss him.
