I get attached to a lot of mugs and stash em aside for this or that and after a while we realize I’ve hoarded a bunch of good mugs. Truth is, I only use one mug and it’s a special mug Judy made me 7 years ago.

There’s also a ton of mugs that are lower priced because they are 11-12 ounces. Perfect mugs they’re just a little smaller than our regular mugs.

Never Forget…..

Sgt. Jeremy R. Wright, 31, was a Special Forces communications sergeant assigned to 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Lewis, Wash.

He was killed in action while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom on Jan. 3, 2005, when the enemy IED exploded near his Ground Mobility Vehicle during operations in the vicinity of Asadabad, Afghanistan.

Wright deployed to Afghanistan in November 2004 in support of the Global War on Terrorism.

A native of Shelbyville, Ind., Wright enlisted in the Army in November 2001 under the service’s then brand-new Special Forces Recruiting Initiative, a program that enables civilian recruits to volunteer to attend the Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course shortly after their completion of Initial Entry Training as infantrymen.

Previously, only currently serving Soldiers could volunteer to attend SFAS.

After entering the Army in April 2002, he completed infantry and airborne training at Fort Benning, Ga., and in August 2002 was assigned to the 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C. Wright attended SFAS in September 2002 and was selected to continue his training as a communications sergeant in the Special Forces Qualification Course.

Wright began the Thai Language Course in November 2003 and completed the SFQC in July 2004 after completing the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Course at Fort Bragg.

He was assigned to the 1st SFG in August 2004.

His awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Parachutist Badge, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Special Forces Tab.

Wright was a 1996 graduate of Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., and was a two-time All-American cross-country runner there. He was also a three-time member of the U.S. Mountain Running Team and was the Indiana state high school champion in the 3,200-meter run.

MOTHER’S DAY MUG ROUND TWO LAUNCH ..

This is the final Mother’s Day Mug launch for this year other than a few prototypes I might sell.

Last year my own mom didn’t get a Mother’s Day mug cause they sold out so fast and I gave the one I set aside for her to a long time customer.

This year I made sure to snag her one. She’s owned her own business for the majority of her adult life so she understands what we’re doing and how important our customers are.

I know these mugs go fast….we’re working hard to get more mugs and some new potters that fit our brand on board to help increase productivity without compromising quality and American made craftsmanship.

We have another launch of Mother’s Day mugs coming this week or next weekend. The following week we’ll be launching our first batch of Pennsylvania handmade made mugs. It’s no secret that I’m spending a lot more time with Bri and Dean in Pennsylvania as Bri and I just recently got engaged. Pennsylvania is now where my heart and home is. Nothing is changing in Wyoming with the shop there and I will be there a lot this coming spring and summer!

We’re also actively working on a Bison Union and shop location in Pennsylvania as well. We’ll keep you all updated.

MOTHER’S DAY MUGS ARE LIVE!!!

Mother’s Day mug update!

We will be doing two separate launches this coming week. The mugs come in either Eggshell White or Mint Green and are numbered. We’ve been working for the last month and tripled our numbers from last year. These mugs are rolled and glazed by hand and all the stamped logos are created by hand as well.

We’ll announce the exact launch dates and times well in advance this week. The mugs will only be available online. If any are available after the online launches, we’ll put some for sale in the coffee shop.

It’s that time of year when we honor our favorite people in the world….moms.

Mother’s Day mugs are gonna be finished and dropping soon. We doubled our efforts this year and we also made twice as many….they’re still a limited small run though!

The last five years this company has been powered by moms. From our staff that is mom heavy and managed by Sheryl who is also a mom, to our two potter moms Judy & Jeannie that make our mugs, to my Fiancé Bri who is also a mom and designed last years and this years Mother’s Day mugs….we wouldn’t be in business without our moms. Spring is coming and the mountains are calling!

Life is too long to drink crappy coffee, even in the backcountry.

We know haven’t made or stocked a lot of hats this year. I made the decision to focus more on coffee this last year as well as focusing on be fun company where we get outside and enjoy life as well. Work hard, play hard!!

It’s been a good while but we’ve got some new hat designs in the hopper right now and we’re gonna do things a little different moving forward. We’re gonna do smaller runs of some badass new hat designs AS WELL as do some smaller runs of our best sellers from the past.

We let ya know ahead of time before they launch. As always, thank you for your patience with us, we’re finally getting back to the company I started in a tiny room….quality over quantity.

Couldn’t be more proud of .oetken She’s now a two-time Wyoming State Champion with an undefeated record.

In her spare time outside of school and wrestling….we’re lucky to have her as a barista in the shop where she’s a phenomenal worker and as humble and as nice as a person can be!

GO CHIEFS!!!!!

This is shaping up to be one of the best Super Bowls in a long time for a lot of reasons, all positive in my eyes.

A lot of haters out there for a bunch of different reasons that will always seem to turn their own personal anger and insecurities into hate for other people. It’s about themselves more than anything else. We sure hope they find some peace and happiness.

In the meantime, both these teams are outstanding and this is gonna be a great game. Best of luck to the 49’ers and their fans. You have a great team!

People ask me, “What’s the obsession with the KC Chiefs & Royals?” Or say things like, “I thought you’re from Texas and Wyoming.”

I will always be from Kansas City. Period.

This photo sums up my answer. This is my dad, T.K., tailgating outside Arrowhead Stadium when the Chiefs weren’t paying well, but Kansas City and my dad still loved them.

The man behind my dad is Greg Trees, together they worked for and ran a company called Western Auto for 30 plus years. My dad starting as a box boy at Sears in Seattle, 4 kids by 25, working his way up the ladder and over to Western Auto earning Store Manager, General Manager, Regional Manager……eventually finding himself in a corner office on the top floors of the historic Western Auto building in downtown KC. What I like to call, the old fashion way, hard work. He was the epitome of hard work and more importantly he always treated the people that worked for him and next to him with the upmost respect…..and on the occasion he did stop working for a minute, he watched the Chiefs & Royals or played a little golf later on in life when he could afford it.

As for Greg (and his wife Carol) behind my dad, I’ll never forget making the mistake of shaking his hand at their office one day while sitting down. That was the beginning of 40 years of lessons from men like them. “Listen son, don’t ever shake a man’s hand unless you’re standing up and looking directly in his eyes.”

Man, my dad loved the Chiefs and Royals and would be so proud and happy of what they’re doing right now.

I’m also really lucky he was able to see me start Bison Union. He was so proud of me for that.

Ive done some cool s**t, but I’ll never be as cool as my dad making drinks and BBQ outside Arrowhead Stadium in a Chief’s track suit.

We pulled the KC Football tee from the site because of the high volume of orders and the deadline of getting them done in time to get them to everyone for the game on the 11th.
