Many of us have a loved one that is in some stage of losing their independence to dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, severe arthritis, or some other chronic health issue. Their care needs can cost thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars each month and can also cost the health and emotional well being of their loved one who try to do too much and give up their lives and relationships to become unpaid caregivers instead of spouses, children, or grandchildren.

Aaron Paker is an elder law attorney that helps those families reclaim some of their sanity, protect the assets that remain, and ensure the level of care that is needed in the highest quality setting available. Frustrated by potential clients who already “knew” that they could not qualify for Medicaid Long-Term Care Benefits because of a Google search or well-meaning neighbor, he literally wrote the book on Medicaid for Washington residents and has helped hundreds of families plan for and apply for Medicaid benefits that save them $3-20K+ dollars every month for the rest of the life of their loved ones. More important than the monetary savings is the family’s ability to be a family again and not a houseful of caregivers, and an ability to afford a better quality of life for the person receiving benefits.

He offers free seminars on Medicaid, where he gives away his book (soon to be sold online for $9.99 each), covers the basics of Medicaid in Washington, and then opens the discussion to the concerns of the audience so that he can focus on the deeper aspects that matter most to the people in the room. In the last year he has given away over 1,000 copies of his book, been recognized by the King County Bar Association as the Outstanding New Lawyer for 2023, been promoted to partner of his law firm, and prepared dozens of plans that change the lives of his clients.
