Today's "Meet the Doctors" is Dr. Lehman!

Dr. Lehman grew up on a farm and ranch in Vernon, TX with two brothers. His dad is a 3rd generation farmer, but he decided to pursue a career in medicine. So he set off for college!

Dr. Lehman first attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX for his undergraduate degree. While he was there, Dr. Lehman met his now wife, Jessica. He then went on to attend medical school at Texas A&M College of Medicine in College Station, TX. In his third year there, he and Jessica got married, and have now been married for 15 years!

Dr. Lehman then went on to complete his residency at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, TX. After completing his residency, he decided to pursue a year of fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. While there, his son, Luke (8), was born!

After his fellowship, Dr. Lehman headed off to join RGB and he has worked here for 8 years. Dr. Lehman's favorite thing about being an ophthalmologist is, "Using the skills God has given me to enhance patients lives by helping them to see better." During his time at RGB, Dr. Lehman and Jessica have had four more children: Abigail (5), Samuel (3), Evelyn and Madelyn (20 month old twins!).

Meet the doctors!

Today's "Meet the Doctors" is Dr. Plauche!

Dr. Plauche grew up and around Lafayette, Louisiana hunting and fishing with his brothers; and when he was 18, he went on to serve in the US Army. While in the army, he met his now wife, Cheryl Plauche. Three months later, they were married in his mother's front yard, and are still married 32 years later!

After marrying Cheryl, he decided he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. While getting his undergraduate degree at the University of Monroe, Avalon (31), was born. Six years later, while in medical school at LSU Health Shreveport, his son, Hunter (25), was born. After completing residency in Temple, Texas at Baylor Scott and White, he and his family moved to Sherman with plans to join Robert Burlingame at RGB (Robert G. Burlingame)!

Dr. Plauche has called Sherman home for 18 years and counting! When asked what his favorite thing about being an ophthalmologist, he stated that his favorite thing was restoring people's vision. He stated that being able to help people from nearly going blind to then having perfect vison again is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

Amanda and Vanessa attended ASCRS and made it in the EyeWorld Magazine! So proud of them!
