Many of you are already aware of this, but if you have not been in in the last few months or seen the website, here's your official announcement:

If you have heard that The Thought Lot is closing, you heard correctly, but the shop is currently operating MOSTLY AS NORMAL at this point in time. If you have something you want to sell, trade, have work done on, etc., for now, you still have time.

The building will need to be fully vacated by July 1st, so in response, the store will be transitioning to an online-only sales format after the current space is vacated. The current plan is to push that end date as close as possible.

A lot of the "post-vacancy logistics" are still being worked on. All contact information will remain the same, so local sales can still be facilitated and arranged case-by-case in favor of customer convenience. Repairs are still up in the air so again, if you need something done, now's the time.

Things to note:
~ Consignments will no longer be accepted, but purchases and trades are still on the table.

~ A lot of larger items are currently very negotiable to alleviate some of the transportation issues that are expected to arise in the vacancy process.

Especially important: Contact is being made with consignors over the course of the next month as any remaining items in the store will need to be retrieved. If you have not yet been contacted, hang tight as your items may be slated to be part of the Reverb memorial day sale (price is compensated, you won't see any less than you expected if sold).

There has been a lot of incorrect information floating around with people assuming the storefront has already been closed, but this is not yet the case. So if you have any questions regarding these changes, PLEASE SEND A PRIVATE MESSAGE and get the information directly.

EDIT: Car trouble has been resolved, and we're open!

So we're a little removed from the holidays now. You've had some time to get your hands on that guitar you got, and self-teaching just isn't cutting it. We can help with that.

Or you got a used guitar on say Reverb (it's fine, we won't judge) and just something isn't right. Maybe the electronics are a little dirty, maybe the action isn't quite up to par. We can help with that too.

Just want to wish everyone out there a Merry Christmas - enjoy all of your new instruments this year, and if you need to learn what to DO with those of the guitar or bass varieties... well, our inbox is always open.

Due to some unexpected circumstances beyond our control, as well as in advance of the incoming weather concerns, we have opted to close 12/16-12/17. This will unfortunately continue to impact lesson scheduling (in-person and online), and any open inquiries for repair quotes could be up to a day or two late getting to you. Just a quick reminder - lesson scheduling is on hold until the 17th (lesson gift certificates can still be purchased in store), and we currently have limited repair capacity. Please send a PM if you have a job that needs done between now and then so we can discuss options. Thanks!

Hey guys, happy December and all that. Just some info for you as we approach the end of 2020:

~ Our tech/teacher will not be available from December 8th to December 16th. If you are in need of repair work, or a quote for an extensive job, please reach out this week. Current students will be contacted about scheduling over the course of this week.

~ Consignments (or trades)! We are currently looking for low to mid-range electric guitars and 4-string basses - Squier, Epiphone, Ibanez, Schecter, LTD, etc. We are also in great need of small practice amps, and can consider some purchase of these.

~ Lessons and store gift certificates are always available, and with some continuing supplier concerns, likely through the holiday season (still have some backorders out...), this could be a great gift option for your musically-inclined loved ones.
