This is the single best Txakoli available in the Twin Cities: Ulacia!

Hailing from a six hectare estate planted in the 1940’s. Only 6,000 cases are produced at the winery annually (this is one of three wines they make). In other words, precious little of this wine comes to America and only a scant bit lands here in Minnesota (like under twenty cases total).

It’s composed of 95% Hondarrabi Zuri 5% Hondarrabi Beltza, and clocks in at a refreshing 11% ABV.

We had previously eaten at Sizzle Street's Minneapolis location, and can say the quality is definitely still there. We got the lamb chops with the highest spice level, and the balance of flavor/spiciness was on point. Make sure to grab a side of garlic Naan as to make the dish complete. This is the best meal I've eaten to date in Waconia, and we eat out a TON! A+

Spain has produced quality and unique wines since the dawn of fruit fermentation. As with most of the Mediterranean Sea coastal lands, the Phoenicians took local vitis vinifera (wine grapes) and started fermenting indigenous vines.

Spain’s first big export was the development of sherry. Its fortification made this wine viable to ship to many countries around the world. However, it was Spain’s Dictator, Francisco Franco, who put a stop to wine exports. Spain reemerged in the wine world in the 1980’s with high quality and regionally unique wines at very attractive prices.
