Brammer Engineering is excited to add the Echometer to its toolkit. The technology and ability to do a total well analysis has come a long way since using 10-guage and .45 caliber blanks to shoot acoustic waves down a well and count collars on a strip tape with calipers. The latest Echometer Company well analysis equipment and Total Asset Monitor (TAM) software can help maximize production and trouble shoot wells in a relatively inexpensive and non-intrusive manner. Debbie first started with Brammer as a summer job in high school when the company consisted of just Bob Brammer, his secretary, an engineer, and an accountant. Brammer is now made up of 56 employees in three offices across Louisiana, so Debbie has seen a lot of growth during her tenure and is an amazing part of the company’s history. One of the highlights during the Christmas season for everyone at Brammer is hosting the annual Christmas party for the children at the Volunteers of America Downtown Lighthouse here in Shreveport. Although we were not able to host our typical fête this year, we still wanted to spread some holiday cheer and do something special for the children. So, Brammer employees came together and packed goody bags full of treats and donated games in order for the students to have a surprise after school! We sure did miss seeing the joy on their faces and hope circumstances allow us to host a Christmas party next year. The VOA is an organization Brammer has long supported and challenging times hit charities even harder, please remember those organizations that you hold important during this time of year.

The U. S Environmental Protection Agency has issued a Risk Management Plan (RMP) Rule that requires any facility that uses extremely hazardous substances in quantities above a threshold amount must develop and submit an RMP for that facility. If the material is considered to be toxic, that threshold amount is specific for the substance. If the material in question is considered to be flammable, that threshold amount is 10,000 pounds. The primary intention of the RMP is to develop a chemical accident prevention program that identifies the potential effects of a chemical accident, what steps are being taken to prevent an accident, and what emergency response procedures will be taken in the event of an accident.

Etiquette dictates it is rude to be boastful, however there are times to give yourself a pat on the back. Brammer Engineering employees have attained a noteworthy 10 year span without a Lost Time Incident. This achievement is not possible unless an organization has complete "buy in" from the employees and exceptional leadership from the top of our organization. Brammer Engineering has a diligent HSE department, but credit for an accomplishment like this goes directly to the personnel that perform their duties day in and day out with enthusiasm and a conscience effort to work safely not only for themselves but fellow coworkers.
