πŸŽ‰ Wrapping Up the 4th Annual AHEAD Program! πŸŽ‰

As the summer semester comes to a close, we proudly mark the completion of the Allied Health Education and Discovery (AHEAD) Program. Since 2020, the program has empowered 151 Louisiana high school students to explore eight diverse health fields: respiratory therapy, medical lab science, nursing, occupational therapy, public health, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and speech-language pathology.

AHEAD’s cohort model supports a close-knit learning environment, with groups of 20-25 students progressing through the curriculum together. The program includes interactive workshops led by faculty, discussion panels with current students, informative lectures, and reflective career exercises. This structure helps students identify career paths that align with their educational and professional goals.

The success of the AHEAD program is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our faculty, staff, and students in the School of Allied Health Professions, who devote their time and expertise to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this initiative!

Words from his nominating faculty: Isaiah is a special scholar that consistently exudes professionalism and quality in every endeavor. He is well-known among faculty as reliable and has built a reputation for excellence in both the classroom and clinical setting.
