Art for the awakening woman is now easy to access, customizable, and laced with empowering affirmations.
No matter where you are on your life's journey, I have pieces for you; I frequently use gemstones, pressed flowers, and feminine themes.
Even when I'm awkward, anxious, and overwhelmed y'all push me to share my work and show genuine love and support.
Especially Kanya Michelle, Katy Larsen, and Nimzo DiGrazia. Y'all especially inspire me to keep living in my work.
I know, I know…🤷🏽♀️
You’ve ALREADY heard the news that is open and ready to sell you amazing ready-to-bake biscuits.
BUT you haven’t heard it from ME! 😁
PS: Slinging biscuits with the owner and Biscuit Bae herself was so much fun!
Why keep your plant babies in a boring terra cotta pot when you can bring them to life with Terries?
I created these cuties a little over three years ago and with each new color, each new theme and collector, they get better and better. 🌻
So, don’t overthink your next addition to the plant fam, get yourself a Terrie and take the flatness out of planter pots.
-Special shoutout to Secrist for having giving his Terries one of the best seats in the house. ❤️
Reminder: you gotta take that next step or you’ll be doing the same thing for the rest of your life.

Experiments with modeling paste have really paid off!
"String of Pearls" and the finer details of "Granny's Gumbo" show just how simple or complex we can go with the paste.
I think you KNOW where this is going next. 😉👍🏾
You ever say something and realize there's a lot of ways that it could be taken?
Well, that's what happened here with "How Much A Dollar Cost?".
" How can something so small be so seemingly heavy," is what I was thinking. But what do you see? 🤔💸

Okay, now let's do a serious one. 😂😂Bonus points if you know where I am. 😉✨
The smaller the details the better the eating! 🥣
The okra, sausage, shrimp, and roux weren't nearly as satisfying of an experience as painting the helping of rice in the center. Although, I'm sure if it were a real bowl of gumbo, that wouldn't be so bad, either. 🤷🏽♀️😁
Message for inquiries and tag your favorite gumbo spot in (even if its just your Dad's house).
Such an honor to be invited to R.W. Norton Art Gallery; especially since this exhibit let me show my existential side! The topic I was assigned read "Nightmare" and frankly I think I delivered.
I'm considering doing more with this in the future...
See more of my life's work to come!

Don’t worry, love. While your resting, I’m dreaming on canvas and that’s okay. Now that you’re up, what would you like for breakfast? 😚
I am Kalandra; muralist, portrait artist, teacher and affirmation enthusiast (center).
I’ve been in many art galleries, pop-ups and vending events selling my work, connecting with my hometown of Shreveport, La by promoting self care, encouraging women and just by sharing myself in my art.
As of November 2022, I am painting at my private home studio, but I still share my work publicly on social media and in galleries such as RW Norton Art Gallery and in local shops like Clean Slate Botanicals.
My goal is to reopen my e-shop with Shopify soon to reach more collectors and provide a better shopping experience.
⭐️pictured below: I was commissioned for a live painting for this lovely couple’s 40th birthday celebration at the Cypres at the Revenir.
Finished work Friday!
This newest batch includes “We Are” and “Midnight Magnolia”. More details are below but I just want to take a moment to talk about how lovely “Midnight Magnolia” rolled out. I’ve been studying color theory and aiming for a richer feel in my flesh tones.
It’s safe to say I nailed it here and I am so happy with the results! As for “We Are”…I suppose this one was a classic affirmation piece. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed these days and painting is a release of that pent up energy and also a reaffirming way to reconnect with myself; my hope is that whomever connects with this work can read these words and be called back to themselves.
I’m gonna paint whether the world sees my work or I keep it to myself. ❤️
Been working on my Self lately: skincare, cardio, abs, yoga and meditation. My budget is firm and my savings are growing. I’ve got plans for myself and I’ve been flowing towards them.
For me hustling is dead. I’m very intentional about what I put my energy into; when I said I was redoing my foundations, I wasn’t sure what that meant but now I see that it just meant holding myself accountable and being my best partner. That means not letting myself give up, not letting the bad days give me reason to quit and truly loving myself through it all (especially the negative self-talk and parenting my inner child).
Even still, without the friends and family I have who support me and help me when I’m down, I don’t know if I would’ve progressed this far. I promised myself that I wouldn’t go places that don’t feel like home, be in groups that don’t welcome me, or forget my self in any capacity.
To say I’m surrounded now by people who truly love and accept me, help me thrive and want what’s best for me is to be able to look back and reflect on what it meant to be exploited for my looks, my creativity, my drive and my spirit. And that s**t sucked. Hard.
Here’s to turning 27 this week and to continue going FOR WHAT’S MINE for another lap around the sun.

More progress! Come join me Rhino Coffee (Rhino Coffee Uptown)! This painting is really coming together.
Up next, Hibiscus flowers and native West Virginian plants.
“Where I’m From” visualizes a breadcrumb botanical journey of my ancestry. It begins on the coast on Nigeria, where I have tracked my lineage and travels to the coast of West Virginia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and all the way to the outer coast of California!
Join me as i paint this emotional journey and feel free to ask me anything, tip me via Venmo or shop my website for complete works.
Due to the rainy weather and the fragile nature of painting, I won't be coming to Rhino Coffee this morning. It'd be too risky for the paintingg.
Instead, I'll be going Live from 8:30AM to 10:00AM. I'm determined to share this with everyone, so share this post!
I’ll be taking tips via Venmo -Jones. 🙏🏾
“Browns & Hues” is now hanging at Rhino Coffee!
Valentine’s Affirmation Keychains:
https://www.ka-lan-draw.com/products/valentines-affirmation-keychain
I have been making theae keychains for some time. Until recently the only affirmation I've used has been “I am enough” but for this Valentine’s Day I want to remind myself and you that self love is not selfish and it is only by havifn a full cup that we can pour into others. Remember that we are our first loves and that our bodies are our first homes. Remember that love isn't about what we can do for others but allowing ourselves to simple be. I mean it sincerely when I say I love myself and I love you
