David Raines Community Health Centers is celebrating National Health Center Week August 4th-10th. National Health Center Week (NHCW) is an annual event sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to celebrate and raise awareness of the work of America's Community Health Centers (CHCs). This year's theme is powering communities through caring connections.

Congratulations to Andrea McKnight, our esteemed Development Director, on being honored with the distinguished title of Non-Profit Professional of the Year by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. We are extremely proud of your well-earned recognition.

Your kindness and generosity have truly made a difference during Give for Good. Thank you!

Mental Health Month celebrates the importance of mental well-being and raises awareness about mental health issues. It is a time to promote self-care, seek support, and break the stigma surrounding mental health. Remember, taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Let's come together to support each other and foster a community where mental health is valued and prioritized.

Today marks an exciting milestone for us at David Raines Community Health Centers as we celebrate the grand opening of the Turner Elementary-Middle School-Based Health Center.

Our Community Development team participated in the Student & Mentor Lunch hosted by Junior Achievement of North Louisiana, linking classroom learning to real-world possibilities for young individuals.

Did you know David Raines Community Health Centers have nine school-based health centers?

Here are some facts about School-Based Health in the U.S. and Louisiana:



There are 2,500 school-based health clinics in 48 states and Washington D.C. They serve more than 2 million students in preschool through 12th grade.



Louisiana Office of Public Health collaborates with 20 sponsoring agencies, including DRCHC, to operate a network of 57 School-Based Health Centers in Louisiana.

Mental wellness is an essential aspect of our overall health and well-being. It refers to our ability to cope with day-to-day stressors, manage our emotions, and maintain positive relationships with ourselves and others. Observing January as National Mental Wellness Month serves as a reminder that we need to take care of our minds just as much as we take care of our bodies.

All of Us Bus made a stop at our Shreveport North location on Wednesday, January 24th . As part of our ongoing partnerships with Tulane we had the chance to get a insight into our own health.

Meet All of Us, health research for our community.
In Louisiana, our lives and culture are unique. Our health care treatments should be too. Together, we can help researchers make discoveries that may lead to better health treatments. By studying things like our genetic makeup, lifestyle, and environment, the All of Us Research Program aims to find more tailored ways to keep us healthy.

The All of Us Research Program is coming to David Raines Community Health Shreveport North Center at 1625 David Raines Rd. on Wednesday, January 24th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
