As part of National Recreation and Park Association: Parks and Recreation Month, we are celebrating Parks and Recreation Professionals Day on Friday, July 19. This is a day to celebrate all the dedicated professionals who build strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation.

Congratulations to the City of Shrewsbury for accomplishing Tree City USA status for the fifth year. 5 years ago, our horticulturist (and now alderperson) Beth Parker, began Shrewsbury's participation in this great program and now we're one of 53 Tree City USA Communities in Missouri and over 3,400 nationwide.

The Tree City USA program was founded in 1976 to celebrate towns and cities committed to growing their urban canopy. Led by the Arbor Day Foundation, with partners at USDA Forest Service and National Association of State Foresters, it provides the foundational framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their tree cover. The Dive-In Movie at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Center is this Friday! 🧜‍♀️🦀🌊🔱 Grab your family and friends to enjoy an outdoor movie while swimming under the stars at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Center. Concessions will be available for a portion of the event. Don’t miss out on this family fun night! Open to current pass holders, all ages welcome. Movie: The Little Mermaid (1989). Due to inclement weather in the area, The Shrewsbury Aquatic Center will be closed for the remainder of the day. Tonight's Swim Lessons have also been canceled.

River walk has been cancelled this morning (7/3) due to weather. Reminder there is no river walk July 4th.
