The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority conducts a homeless count over three days yearly. Signal Hillโs mobile Homeless Count will be held on January 24, 2024, beginning at 7 p.m. with non-uniform police as drivers.

SIGNAL HILL CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING:
Please place botanical decorations inside your green organics cart on your collection day and follow these guidelines when setting out your Christmas tree for curbside collection:
โข Remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, and the tree stand
โข Cut tree in 4-foot lengths and trim off branches
โข Place the trimmed tree inside your green organics cart with the lid closed
โข No flocked trees
Multi-family customers can set out Christmas trees by the curb for collection between January 5th and January 12th but MUST call the office before to set up the collection.

The DCC shall examine the Cityโs current policies and engage the community on various aspects of race and equity as part of an evolving effort to address systemic racism and bias in the policies and practices of municipal government. The proposed goals of the DCC are focused on three specific areas: education, facilitation, and continuous improvement.

We'd like to remind residents that increases to Signal Hill water meter rates and water usage rates will take effect starting January 1, 2024. This rate change is per City Ordinance No. 2020-01-1512, passed on January 28, 2020.

EDCOโs Bulky-Item Cleanup Event will take place during the week of November 6th through November 10th. Simply place the items youโd like picked up out on the curb with your regular collection carts on your regularly scheduled collection day during the cleanup event. ๐
Residents living in apartments or condominium communities can also take part in the Fall Cleanup. Multi-family managers are required to call the EDCO office in advance of the cleanup at (562) 597-0608, no later than October 30th, to schedule a day during the cleanup week for tenants to place unwanted items at the curb. ๐

Today, we raised our flag commemorating Native American Heritage Month at the Signal Point Terrace with City Council Members, Diversity Coalition members, esteemed guests, colleagues, employees, and community members. We would also like to acknowledge our special guest, Thalia Gomez, Director of Tribal Relations from California State University Long Beach, for speaking at our event today.
We commemorate Native Americans annually each November and celebrate the significant contributions they made to the establishment and growth of the United States. Every President since 1995 has issued annual proclamations designating November as the time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and history of Native people.
