The Simi Valley Police Department was awarded grant funding from Congresswoman Julia Brownley’s office to implement Live911.

Live911 is an innovative tool that livestreams incoming 911 calls directly to Officers in the field, reducing response times and improving situational awareness. With GPS pinpointing and real time audio, Officers can respond faster and more efficiently. Live911 enhances coordination, builds community trust and fosters better teamwork within our department. Together we are making a critical difference in life or death situations.

Assembly member Jacqui Irwin honored the 2024 Women of the Year for the 42nd District. Celebrated were six women trailblazers who have all made an impact in the community, one being our very own Detective Kellyn King.

Detective Kellyn King's unwavering commitment to protecting children, combating s*x crimes, addressing domestic violence, and fighting against human trafficking is truly incredible.
Inspired by a survivor trafficking, she embarked on a journey to educate herself and others about the intricacies of human trafficking, demonstrating a rare passion for justice and community welfare. Detective King actively engages with at-risk youth in the community, recognizing the importance of prevention. She firmly believes that collaboration with anti-trafficking organizations is essential for successful investigations, disseminating knowledge throughout communities, and providing support to victims on their path to recovery.
By nurturing relationships with youth who have experienced prior trauma and are at risk of being commercially s*xually exploited, she demonstrates a compassionate approach to preventing further victimization. Her dedication to building trust and offering support to vulnerable individuals is both inspiring and impactful.

Congratulations Detective Kellyn King on your well deserved award!

Serial graffiti suspect arrested!

Friday July 12th, 2024 :: 10:35 p.m. PDT

For the past several months, the City of Simi Valley has experienced an uptick in “gang graffiti” vandalisms, wherein the suspects have predominantly been targeting residential areas located on the west end of the city. In many of those graffiti vandalisms, a suspect has tagged “GMT” on fences and properties that face several residential thoroughfares. Members of the Simi Valley Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team took the lead in investigating these crimes and identified David Euan, 20 years, who is a resident of Simi Valley, as being the primary suspect in this series.

On July 12, 2024, David Euan was arrested at his residence and was taken to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s East Valley Jail, where he was booked for Felony Vandalism.

The Simi Valley Police Department’s SET team is an entity within the Special Enforcement Bureau and was established as a crime suppression unit meant to address various crimes within the City. Those duties include the enforcement of lewd/dissolute conduct in public, Human Trafficking enforcement, ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) enforcement investigations and assessment, the enforcement of street-level narcotics, warrant service on wanted individuals, and gang enforcement.

The Simi Valley Police Department would like to thank the Community for its ongoing support and partnerships that make the City of Simi Valley a safe place to enjoy and live. The Simi Valley Police Department encourages its citizens to report suspicious activity, which can be done anonymously. To remain anonymous, tips can be sent to the Department’s tip line at (805) 583-6984, or to Crime Stoppers of Ventura County by telephone at, (805) 494-8255. Additionally, members of the community can call the City of Simi Valley Graffiti Abatement Hotline at (805) 583-6444. If anyone has any additional information regarding this particular series of graffiti crimes, please contact Officer Mora at (805) 583-6156.

Remember that fireworks are UNLAWFUL in the City of Simi Valley. In addition, fireworks cause distress to the pets and animals in our community. We ask that you please be considerate of them. To help ensure the safety of our pets, here are a few tips for the 4th of July holiday.

In Advance:
• Make sure your pets have identification tags and microchipping with up-to-date information.
• Consider consulting your veterinarian regarding behavioral therapy to desensitize your pet and reduce potential anxiety.
• Make sure your home and outdoor areas are secure.

During July 4th Celebrations:
• Keep your pets securely at home, and as far from excitement and noise as possible.
• Make sure guests are aware of your pets, and place notes to remind guests about closing doors and gates.
• Keep your pets away from barbecue grills while in use/hot and avoid feeding your pets table scraps.
• Remember too much sun and heat (and humidity) can be dangerous to your pets. Make sure they have access to shade and water.
• Never leave your pet in your car when it's warm outside.

After the Celebrations:
• Check your yard for firework debris, food scraps, or other debris before allowing your pets outside.

For knowledge of exact location of where fireworks are actively being set off, call the non-emergency line at (805) 583-6950. For injury or fire, call 9-1-1.

If you have knowledge of pre-planned fireworks, you may report anonymously to our dedicated fireworks line at 805-583-6212 or email [email protected]. Please make every effort to provide exact location of the fireworks.

The 4th of July holiday results in a significantly higher call volume, so please limit fireworks related calls, except in the following circumstances:
• For injury, call 9-1-1
• For fire, call 9-1-1
• For knowledge of exact location of where fireworks are actively being set off, call the non-emergency line at (805) 583-6950
