Fabric Mart has been in business for over 40 years. Our web store was developed in 1999 to meet the needs of our customers. In addition to our online fabric store we have a retail store that is located at 3911 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA. We pride ourselves on our friendly customer service and the ability to offer such great fabrics at tremendous savings. We are still a relatively small family
A message from the owners:
First, we want to thank all of our customers for your continued support of our small business. Running a small business is a dream for a lot of people. It comes with exciting times, it comes with challenging times. Sometimes it comes with excitement and challenges all at the same time! Upgrading and migrating a website from one platform to another is one of those times!
A little background: This year we had to move platforms due to technical issues with our original site. It was outdated and the upgrades that needed to be done were going to involve a complete overhaul. Fast forward through many meetings and conversations, we settled on moving platforms and going with Shopify. As with any business, we’re looking for a better shopping experience for our customers as well as ways that we can continue to grow our business.
After months and months of building, designing and testing we have finally launched! All website upgrades and migrations come with roadblocks (this wasn’t our first rodeo – we’ve updated the site at least twice in our time of being at Fabric Mart!) We knew there would be changes for both customers and our staff but ultimately felt they would be positive after we all adapt to them. We are still in the thick of figuring all of this out (nothing like learning on the job!) Our entire team is working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the live site even better!
Here are some things we are working on:
- Rewards Program – We were unable to get the rewards program to launch at the same time as the site. Unfortunately the situation with our rewards partner became out of our control. We understand this is not ideal and that you love the program! Stash Cash should be up and running in the next week. We plan on offering customers some extra bonus points as a “thank you for your patience.” Stay tuned!
- Sale prices in the shopping cart – This one threw us for a loop at launch! We want to remain your favorite online fabric store that offers amazing discounts on amazing fabric! Right now we are still offering daily discounts on fabric, but you won’t see that reflected until you get to your shopping cart. I know many of you had a bit of price shock. But rest assured, our prices haven’t actually changed. The discount just shows somewhere else. We are working with our developer as we speak to get discounts to show with the products. We hope this change comes sooner than later, but please know that we are working very hard to get this figured out!
- Where did .99 go? You may recall a lot of our fabrics ended with .99 (like $17.99, $24.99, etc.) Due to technology on the backend, we needed to use numbers that can be divided by 4. The fractional yardage you love, and we love to offer you, is why we had to do this. We didn’t want to take that feature away from you!
We have a laundry list of other things we would like to roll out in the future, but these items are at the top of our list. Thank you to those of you that have reached out in one way or another praising and sharing your thoughts of the site. We have received a lot of positive comments and constructive feedback that we are using to make the experience even better.
We would like to ask you to please remember, there is a real person on the other side of the phone or computer and we are trying our best to get things buttoned up. We appreciate your continued support and thank you for your patience during this transition.
If you have a question, run into a problem shopping our site or want to offer a praise, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to answer your questions and continue to offer you the best shopping experience possible, the best prices and the best customer service out there!
Sincerely,
Julie Brown & Lisa Domeshek
Co-owners, Fabric Mart
We’re working on something special behind the scenes that we can’t wait to share with you. Please stand by! 💜
Ever tried something new that totally changed your life? Back in February, Fabricista Jasmine took on hot yoga for the first time and it was challenging, to say the least. Fast forward to now, she’s confidently mastering those poses and it’s sparked an entire fitness journey! 🧘🏾♀️💪🏾

As we wrap up this Fireside Chat, let's have a little bit of fun with some rapid fire questions! How would you answer some of these questions?
🎾 Natasha recently found a new passion—Pickleball! Naturally, she needed some stylish new outfits, and Fabric Mart's Beyond Yoga performance fabrics were the perfect fit. With a $50 budget, she selected three fabrics: two Nylon/Lycra "Sportflex" in purple and olive, and a polyester/Lycra featherweight Jersey knit in blue. 🏃♀️
She turned to her favorite Jalie patterns for this project and created a mix-and-match collection of tops and bottoms. The Jalie Audrey pattern was a standout, especially with its built-in bra feature. Natasha even self-drafted a quarter-circle skirt for her dress, adding a personal touch! 👗
While the journey had a few hiccups (like sizing issues and some back seam adjustments), Natasha loved the final results. From the Jalie Loulouxe skirt with inbuilt shorts (and a pocket!) to the Clara high-rise leggings, every piece was perfect for her new pickleball adventures.
Natasha's tip: Always check your cardboard pattern mat before drafting a circle skirt—you might find a helpful template already there! ✂️
She's already planning her next project and can't wait for more performance fabrics from Fabric Mart.

🌟 New Blog Post Alert! 🌟
While browsing our site, Fabricista Johanna discovered the Challis section and instantly fell in love with a white, black, and gray animal print Challis. 🐾 She also found the same print in black and decided to create a chic color-blocked outfit. The fabric exceeded her expectations in person, being softer and even more beautiful than on the web! 🌸
Johanna chose McCall's 8483 from the Spring 2024 collection for her project. The top features elastic at the neck, arms, and waist, and she made a slight modification by adding 2" to the hem. She paired it with a flowy, tiered skirt from the same pattern, opting for the shorter version to suit her petite frame. The skirt’s gathered diagonal tier adds a unique touch, and Johanna's narrow hem finish is simply perfect! 🌺✨
She's thrilled with the versatility of her outfit – the top can be paired with shorts, jeans, or another skirt, and the skirt looks fabulous with different tops. The fabric’s drape is gorgeous and opaque enough to skip the lining. 🖤 Johanna is excited to use the leftover fabric to make some pants too! 👖
Check out her full blog post for all the details on this stunning make!

We just got in the most beautiful selection of denim twills! They are bright, cheerful and can be used for so many things like jeans, overalls, shorts, skirts, tote bags and even home decor. The fabric has a medium-heavy weight while still having a softness to it. It's not stiff as a board and probably gets softer with washing (we haven't tried yet!) Add these denim twills to your cart right now, you'll thank me later! Shop now: https://tinyurl.com/ytzskwhc

🧵✨ Explore Yellowstone with Kayla! 🌲✨
This summer, our talented Fabricista and Fabric Describer, Kayla (), embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Yellowstone National Park! 🌄💚 Accompanied by her partner Tim, they visited his dad, a park ranger, and embraced the park's unpredictable weather. ☔🌞
Knowing that her usual cute dresses wouldn't suffice, Kayla crafted the perfect solution: water repellent bucket hats! 🎩💦 Inspired by a past virtual sewing class with Fabric Mart, she used 100% nylon water repellent shirtings (SKU: CAC5934 and CDD5952) and a polyester/polyurethane PUL fabric (SKU: DUC5909) to create three stylish hats for herself, Tim, and his mom.
Kayla's attention to detail and fabric choices ensured that these hats were not only practical but also fashionable. The nylon shirtings were a breeze to sew, and despite a slight hiccup with the PUL fabric, the results were amazing! 🔥✂️
Whether fly fishing on the Gibbon or exploring the stunning landscapes, these hats proved to be indispensable, easily crumpling up for storage and popping back out when needed. 🌧️🎒
Kayla's journey to Yellowstone was truly one-of-a-kind, and she’s already looking forward to her next adventure and the fabulous creations she'll bring along! 🌍🧢

Dee's Summer Wardrobe:
☀️ Bright White Jacket - Dee crafted a stunning summer jacket using a waffle weave double knit from Fabric Mart. This medium-weight fabric was easy to launder and a breeze to sew on. The pattern she used was Simplicity 1073 view D, featuring three-quarter length sleeves and a one-button closure. With two small pleats on the front bodice and a box pleat in the back, this pattern was an easy sew and perfect for summer!
🎨 Colorful Summer Top - For a splash of color, Dee chose a vibrant polyester lycra shirting. This fabric also laundered beautifully and was simple to work with. She used Butterick 5954 view A, combining it with short sleeves from view C. This close-fitting, flared pullover tunic is versatile enough to pair with multiple wardrobe items, making it a fantastic summer staple.
Dory's Summer Vibes:
🌸 Long Tunic in Linen - Dory embraced the summer trend with a long tunic made from 100% linen featuring a sketchy tropical floral print in biscuit brown and powder blue. This fabric was a dream to work with, and she used New Look 6566 for the pattern. By finishing the neckline and armholes with single fold bias tape and shortening the tunics length, she created a piece that fits her perfectly at 5’5”.
👖 Versatile Summer Pants - Dory’s pants were made from 100% cotton ripstop jacketing fabric, which was also very easy to handle. This fabric is ideal for jackets, pants, or totes and washed and ironed beautifully. The pattern, also from New Look 6566, includes pockets made from the yoke, giving a nice flat finish. Dory opted to leave out the drawstring for a sleeker look.
Join Dee & Dory for all the sewing tips, inspiration, and gorgeous fabric picks! 🌟

🌟 Happy Friday, everyone! 🌟
Ma**ca, our talented Fabric Mart Fabricista, is making the most of her summer with some fabulous sewing projects! Even with a busy schedule, she's carving out time to create a versatile wardrobe for the upcoming school year. 🌞✂️
She's been experimenting with a stunning rayon challis fabric print in two different colorways. Initially planning a pants or skirt set, Ma**ca opted for a coordinated set instead. She started with Simplicity 9756 but decided it needed too many modifications. Instead, she used her trusted Simplicity 8605 pants pattern and tried out the Simplicity 8553 kimono pattern for the top.
With a few custom adjustments like lengthening the sleeves and adding elastic, Ma**ca achieved the perfect fit! She's thrilled with the final look and can't wait to rock it at work. 👗
Plus, there's enough leftover fabric for a cute set for her daughter to wear on vacation. Stay tuned to Ma**ca's Instagram for more stylish creations before the school year begins! 📚✨

🌟 New Blog Post Alert! 🌟
Fabricista Macy () is back with another fantastic blog post! 🧵✨ Lately, she's been super active, engaging in running, Pilates, strength training, and more. And of course, she loves rocking spunky and cute workout wear because who says you can't be fashionable at the gym? 😍🏋️♀️
This time, Macy decided to dive into the world of DIY activewear! 🎾👗 Inspired by the trendy tennis and pickleball outfits, she made her own stylish and multifunctional ensemble. Perfect for working out, playing sports, or just everyday wear! 🏃♀️💪
Using an old pleated skirt for measurements, Macy created her own skirt pattern, adding seam allowances and measuring meticulously. For the shirt, she traced around an old favorite using a tracing wheel and construction paper. It was all about precision and creativity! ✂️📏
The trickiest part? Making the patterns from scratch! But with the beautiful fabric from Fabric Mart, everything came together wonderfully. 🌺✨ Macy chose a stunning fabric that was a breeze to work with, perfect for activewear. The stretchy material offered some leeway, making the process smoother even with a few hiccups. 😅💕
Macy is thrilled with the final results and feels the outfit is true to her style. She can’t wait to wear it around, and we’re sure you’ll love it too! Check out her full blog post for all the details. 🌟📖
