The wait is almost over!

With my maternity leave soon coming to a close, I want to once again extend my gratitude to each of you for your support and patience as I have been away from the office. There are no words for how thankful I am to have been able to be 100% present with our sweet baby boy this summer. He has brought us more joy since his arrival than we ever knew possible!

As I transition into this new chapter of being a mom and small business owner, please note that my availability going forward will be adjusting to align with our family's new Monday through Friday childcare schedule.*

I'm aware that this change may impact those of you who are accustomed to my previous evening and weekend appointments, and I hope that you will still come visit Amethyst when your schedule allows!

I am so grateful for the relationships I have built with my clients over the past 10 years and I would love to continue to work alongside each of you in achieving your health and wellness goals. However, upon request, I am happy to provide you with a referral to an alternative massage therapist who can accommodate hours outside of my schedule and meet your unique needs.

He's finally here!

I am so excited to announce the recent addition to our family, Hunter Alan, who was born on May 8th.

As I take this time to focus on our sweet boy, I am so grateful for the ongoing support I received from my clients throughout my pregnancy journey. I appreciate your patience and understanding during this special time while I am away from the office and soaking up every moment I can in this new chapter of our lives.

✨ Pregnancy & Maternity Leave Update ✨

Hello all! I wanted to post a quick reminder that my May pregnancy due date is quickly approaching, and that means my maternity leave is also right around the corner.

While my plan is to still be in the office through the end of April, please note that my calendar is quickly filling and I have limited appointments available before I start my leave. Please consider taking a moment to set up your next appointment if you have not yet done so!

Let me assure you that I will continue working through my third trimester to the best of my ability, but as my body continues to put in overtime, there will be some services temporarily unavailable for online booking during this time. I thank you in advance for your understanding as I prioritize my well-being and the needs of my growing baby.

My plan is to be out of the office for 8-12 weeks following the birth of our baby boy. This will allow me time to recover and to adjust to life as a new family of three. Please stay tuned for announcements of baby's arrival as well as information about my return to work over the coming months.

I appreciate your patience and support during this special time in my life!

In the event that you require a massage during my maternity leave, I am more than happy to provide a referral to another skilled and qualified massage therapist who can suit your individual needs. Please feel free to contact me, and I will recommend someone I trust. Hello & Happy New Year!

As we dive into 2024 and winter settles in, I would like to emphasize how much I value your safety and well-being!

While we have been experiencing a mild winter thus far, it seems that potentially hazardous winter weather conditions will soon be upon us. As we all turn our eyes and ears to the upcoming weather forecasts and continue muddling our way through cold and flu season, I would like to take a moment to remind everyone of my inclement weather and illness cancelation policies:


Winter Weather:

⁃ Your safety is my top priority. You will never be penalized for canceling due to poor road conditions.

⁃ As a general rule, if the Sioux Falls School District closes and/or a No Travel Advisory is issued in Sioux Falls due to poor weather, Amethyst Massage Therapy will be closed as well.

I know that many of you eagerly await your massage sessions and rescheduling can feel like a big inconvenience with busy schedules this time of year! However, YOU and I are irreplaceable. In addition, I think we would all prefer to not have to replace any vehicles! Some risks are simply not worth taking.

Please know that I will take every measure possible to ensure your appointment is rescheduled in a timely manner once conditions have improved.


Illness Policy:

If you are feeling under the weather...

⁃ In an effort to maintain a healthy environment, I ask that if you are feeling unwell (including cold and flu symptoms, fevers, etc.) that you please reschedule your session. You will never be penalized for canceling when you or a member of your household are sick.

- For those that may have missed my previous email announcement, I am currently pregnant and my husband and I are expecting our first baby in May! As an at-risk pregnancy, please note that I will be extra vigilant this year about not taking any unnecessary health risks and reserve the right to politely ask you to reschedule your service if you arrive to my office symptomatic.

⁃ While massage therapy has many benefits, it is contradictory when you are ill and it will not speed up your recovery.

If I am feeling ill...

- As a self-employed person, I don't get paid for sick days and I hate having to cancel appointments due to illness on my part. I never cancel lightly, so I appreciate your understanding should I need to reschedule.

- I will not risk compromising my clients' health by passing along an illness, mine or yours, and appreciate you joining my efforts to minimize the spread of germs in my office.

- I appreciate your patience during these instances. Please be assured that I will work to get you back on the schedule as soon as possible!

I am excited to announce that Amethyst Massage Therapy will be moving to a new office space soon!

It's a bittersweet moment as I say goodbye to my current location at Tan On Demand & Specialty Suites, but as my existing lease comes to an end, I am excited for this next chapter and the opportunities that it will bring.

I never could have imagined the growth my small business would experience when I joined the TOD and MK Suites group back in 2019. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have met so many wonderful clients, neighbors, and fellow small business owners during my time in this space.

As of August 28th, 2023, all appointments will continue in my new office, located just a few minutes away within the Peterson Building:

My new private waiting area and treatment room will be more spacious, allowing me to provide an even better experience for my existing and future clients. As Amethyst transitions into this next chapter, please note you will notice a slight price increase on my services beginning on September 1st, 2023, as sales tax will no longer be included in the session price. Appointments that have already been scheduled prior to this notice will be honored at my current session rate.

As of this week, my office has relocated to Tan on Demand & Specialty Suites. If you haven't had a chance to visit MK's "sister" suites, your commute won't change as my new building is located in the same parking lot! You will find me just two doors down at 3024 W. 57th St.

While my custom suite is created, I have a beautiful temporary room ready for you!

I'm not the only one getting a new space! There will be some handymen in and out of the building assisting with projects as we transform our suites into the beautiful spaces you know and love. We are working hard to get everything accomplished as quickly (& quietly) as possible, but if you are noise sensitive, please reach out to me for booking assistance. I will do my best to help you find a time when there will be less traffic in the building.

During this transition, we appreciate your patience as we get everything settled over the next few weeks.
