VS

“How is my stress trying to show me that something in my life needs to change?”

The second question reminds you that stress is not inherently bad, but often contains wisdom for how to get your life back into alignment.”

THE TOXINS OF THE HOUSE ARE:
1. Objects you no longer use or serves you.
2. Clothes you don’t like or haven’t worn in a long time.
3. Broken items especially ones that are replaceable.
4. Old cards, notes that no longer serve you. If you don’t want to keep it there is no shame or guilt for parting with it.
5. Plants that are dead or sick.
6. Receipts, old magazines and stacks of mail.
7. Stuff of all kinds calling the past that is no longer who you are or what you’re interested in.
8. If you have children, toys that are not used, that do not work or broken.

WITH CLEANING THEM OUT:
1. Health gets better
2. Creativity grows
3. Relationships get better
4. There is greater reasoning capacity.
5. Improved mood

QUESTIONS THAT MIGHT HELP CLEANSING:
- Why am I saving that?
- Is it worth keeping?
- How will I feel if I release that?

INSIDE CLEANING REFLECTED OUTSIDE.
1. Avoid extreme noises
2. Less strong lights
3. Less chemical odors
4. Present in the moment
5. Finish unfinished projects
6. Cultivate positive energy in your home

As you cleanse, watch what changes in you.
As we clean our physical house, we also place order to our mind and heart. Practicing detachment with material things that just fill your space and you’ll see how you’ll slowly be able to do the same with more momentous situations. Make your space where your soul feels free!

The Hard Truths About Self-Care:

1. You will disappoint some people when you prioritize your self care.

2. Self care often means doing what you don’t feel like doing in the present moment to benefit future you.

3. Your boundaries will scare some people away. It’s okay. Let them go.

4. Don’t neglect yourself because you are taking care of someone else. You need to be giving to yourself first.

5. Giving from a place of emptiness only leads to resentment. Towards the other person, and eventually to yourself.

6. Self care requires letting go of habits, relationships and choices that are familiar, but no longer serve you.

7. It means being honest with yourself, especially when the truth is hard to admit.

8. Self care is hard to do when you need it most.

How do you care for yourself even when it’s hard?

Uncommunicated expectations are premeditated resentments ― Neil Strauss

It's so crucial to have open dialogues about expectations and reach shared understandings, rather than harboring unspoken assumptions. Holding expectations without clearly communicating them to others sets the stage for disappointment and resentment.

Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation.
Healing is an act of communion.

Recently, I've learned not to interrupt when people tell me what they're going through.

If we're in person, I wait until they're finished talking. If we're texting, I don't start typing until they stop. I don't rush to compare my experience to theirs, even if they're similar.

I don't offer unsolicited advice. I'm practicing listening to understand, not to respond.
Sometimes people just need someone to listen. Even if your intentions are good, give them that time and space.

July 4th can distract from an essential truth about this nation’s birth: The US was founded on stolen Indigenous land.

Land acknowledgement Oceti Sakowin means “Seven Council Fires” and refers collectively to the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people.

There are nine federally recognized native nations within the borders of South Dakota: Cheyenne River, Crow Creek, Flandreau Santee, Lower Brule, Oglala, Rosebud, Sisseton-Wahpeton, Standing Rock, and the Yankton Sioux tribes.

The Indigenous-led Land Back movement is all about restoring the rights and freedoms of Indigenous people. It’s about dismantling white supremacy and systems of oppression and ensuring that Indigenous people can again govern the land their communities called home for thousands of years. This year, let’s commit to returning it.

Amanda and I started officially working together in January 2023 after she had experienced some major changes in her life. Amanda trusted and hired me on as her Emotional Support Person for the next 18 months. The success of our working relationship has been a centered around “peership” and the belief that I am learning from her as much as she is learning from me. Equals. Leaning into our trust for each other we first worked through her home creating a true space for peace and rest. Second with her business and making it the space she and her community desired. Since our work together it has exponentially allowed Amanda to flourish at an unpredictable rate. The confidence in who she is and what she is putting into the world is a light that is unmatched.

After working together one to two times per week for a year we were aware that our time together was nearing an end. As sad as that may seem it’s a beautiful reflection of what Amanda endeared to get here. Today we celebrate who Amanda is today and how VERY far she has worked to get where she is; confident, knowing, boundaries, goals and to love again.

Clients need to be aware that the goal of working with me is one day you will not need me. I come into your lives to teach you what I know and help you arrive to the place you want to be in. Always there for you in times of need, but ultimately, clients know and agree that the results depend on their efforts.

Amanda, you are magic. I love you, and I’m so happy you finally see yourself through the eyes of those that love and care for you. Your growth has been one of the greatest experiences to witness! Thank you, forever.

We can be stubborn about a lot of things, but being stubborn about asking for help when we need it only makes us need more of it later on, which makes it more difficult to ask, so we try to function at 100% while on power-save mode, which isn't possible, so we shut down... Don't fall into that trap. Practice asking for help with the little things so when the time comes to ask for help with the bigger stuff, you have some practice and know how to do it (but don't over-do it.. it's a delicate balance).

🏳️‍🌈”For pride month this year can straight people focus less on “Love is Love” and more on “Queer and Trans people are in danger”

✨Gentle Reminders for Pride Month ✨

Out does not always = Proud.
You can be proud without being out.

It’s okay to be closeted for your own safety.

You are not any less valid if you’re not out.

Your identity still matters if you’re not out.

You’re not “lying” or “faking it” if you’re not out.
It’s not “just a phase” if you’re not out.

Your feelings are still real if you’re not out.

It’s okay if you aren’t sure of your sexuality yet, and aren’t comfortable coming out.

You matter. You’re real. You’re valid.
And you’re allowed to take time to figure yourself out.

You are loved weather you know it or not.
