Time. It’s a disappearing commodity.

We’re all busy. Work. Family. Children’s sports. Unexpected crisis.

I’d love to work out; I just don’t have enough time.

Do you put money aside? Savings account? Investment account? Retirement?

You know already that when you consistently put a little aside every week, over time, it adds up to a nice nest egg.

Your health is the same. Just 20-30 minutes of strength training one day and a walk the next will make a big difference over time.

What’s the point of having a million-dollar retirement account if you’re not around to enjoy it?

You have the time. It’s just a priority issue.

I’ve been blessed to train people and workout in my own private gym for the past 17 years, but with that I’ve become a bit sheltered.

I was recently in a commercial gym while traveling to Chicago with my wife. Honestly, I can understand why people don’t want to go to a gym and hire a trainer; what a comedic disaster gyms have become!

There are still the “gym bros” doing chest and arms. Then there are the people on their phones nonstop, and finally, the trainer flexing in the mirror while holding a clipboard!

If the thought of that makes you want to vomit like I wanted to, check out resultsptonline.com for a more guided, secluded fitness experience.

If you’d rather get your workout in the privacy of your own home, check out reversingthetrend.net, download the free e-book, and learn to create your own road to a new you.

If you could only do one upper-body strength movement for the next year, what would you choose?

What do you think is the hammer to a thumb tack movement that does it all?

I’ll tell you my opinion tomorrow…

Like many other fitness establishments around the country, we did The Murph workout last week. The camaraderie fun and brought a lot of people together to cheer each other on. It was all about completion, regardless of what level everyone was at. Many people modified it, but everyone completed it and hit the required number of reps. Huge thank you to everyone that participated!

What’s another simple thing you can do at home, on your own, and still maintain or gain strength?

Push-ups!

What if you aren’t strong enough to do full push-ups on the floor?

It's simple: Use the kitchen sink! Once you can do 20 of these, progress to push-ups on your knees.

Simple things to keep in mind: DON’T sag your hips! Keep your elbow’s at a 45 degree angle, not flared out by your ears.

What’s the EASIEST first step to getting in shape?

What’s the one thing you can do on your own that works?

What’s the lowest-hanging fruit on the fitness tree?

Walking! Get outside and go for a walk

The sun feels good and gives you some much-needed Vitamin D. It’s also great for zone 2 fat-burning cardio. It’s an opportunity to listen to a good podcast or your favorite music or simply get lost in your thoughts. Plus, walking outside in nature has been proven to lower stress and improve happiness.

Best part is, it’s free!

Results has never participated in “The Murph” workout.

This year that changes.

Results members, we’d like to challenge you to accomplish this workout on Memorial Day weekend. Here’s the thing, you can modify it as necessary. If you can’t run, row instead. Can’t do pull ups, do horizontal TRX pull ups instead. You may break up up movements, just accumulate the correct total numbers.

Who’s in?

02/05/2024

Fasting.

Intermittent. 24 hours. 36 hours.

It’s the hottest topic right now in the fitness and weight loss industry.

I’m not an expert, but I have done both intermittent fasting and a recent 40-hour food fast. One of my biggest takeaways was that I eat because it’s in front of me or I’m bored, not because I’m actually hungry or need it.

The voice in your head that tells you to stuff some chips in your mouth is the same voice that says you can’t go an extra quarter mile on your jog or walk. That voice is seeking comfort.

If you really want to learn about your habits and the voice in your head, try a fast. It’ll be interesting to see how many times you want to eat something but then realize you don’t really need it.

01/05/2024

Pull ups are so easy to modify no matter your ability. Take Russ for example: we challenge him with weighted L-sit pull-ups since regular ones don’t check the box for him.

Huge congrats to Dave! The second person to stamp his name in the Elite Overhead Press club!

Strength training, the older we get, the more important it is.

What’s the most efficient way to get it done and see progress?

Train movements, not muscle groups!

For example, I like to pair an upper-body push with a lower-body pull. Then an upper-body pull with a lower-body push. In other words, push-ups followed by RDLs, then pull-ups followed by a squat.

There you have it—a complete total-body workout that hits pretty much everything. Do this three times a week, varying the sets and reps, and you’ll see a big difference in 12 weeks.

If you don’t exercise, why?

Don’t have time?

Can’t afford a membership?

Don’t have space in your house?

Just don’t like it?

With all the literature, podcasts, and weekly studies showing the health and longevity benefits of weekly exercise, I’m still curious why you don’t. I’m not here to judge you. I’m simply curious.

“I ain’t as good as I once was!”

Aging, it’s a fun process.

Your body hurts, injuries mount up, your desire to do stupid things changes, and you just don’t work as well as you used to.

You know, you can fight against aging. According to Dr. Peter Attia, maintaining cardiovascular health and strength goes a long way toward staying young and living longer.

This isn’t hard. It’s just that you need to make it a priority. You can knock out either one in 30 minutes a day. Alternate days of strength training and cardio.

Consistency will help you be “as good once as you ever were”, rather frequently!

When your hormones arrive as a girl, life may be truned a little upside down. When hormones start to run low as a normal part of a mature woman s lifespan, life can again be turned a little upside down. The same form of exercise doesn't do the job anymore from our 20's. Ironically, we don't need to do more, as we may naturally think. Indeed, we need intensity and heavy lifting, but we don't need the same duration on it.
