Most of what we do is automatic and if we are not purposely taking time to create what we want, we are creating something that has been part of our programming. Any day is a good day to put our attention where it is important, but when the new year comes, it feels like we have a new opportunity to create. The new year is a great opportunity to look at the ways that we have been going through life, and see if our actions are in alignment with our values. We could look at 6 or 8 dimensions of wellness and see which ones we want to focus on the most. The part that is usually challenging for most is the desire to go at it all at once. I love stanford proffesor, B J Fogg's idea of using tiny changes. He calls them tiny habits. You create a very small action that moves you in the right direction and you couple the new habit with something that you are already doing.

To improve the way we move we need to slow down and notice how we are doing things, and also re-connect with foundational movements. When I observe people moving, I see the disconnect between the parts of the body. Re-connecting with our bodies and re-patterning our movement are ways to improve movement and health!
