Trying to remain serious and not to giggle like a little girl as #19, yes that guy, takes the ice. *giggle* he's really good. Didn't get the shot of him casually fist bumping Crow in the middle of practice as they crossed paths (dangit).

SAHA Benefit Hockey Game with the Hornets.
Hornet's No. 11 shows the skill the Hornets have achieved. Skating is tough and takes a life time to master - ditto for hockey sleds. The grace of the Hornets players is a joy to watch - they make the impossible look effortless.

Skokie Midgets try Hockey Sleds
MIDGET PLAY - Midgets demonstrate just how dang challenging it is to play in a hockey sled making you appreciate all the more the grace demonstrated by the Hornets on ice. Watch out PC language may not be present - they're a rowdy bunch alright.

Hornets on the move looking to increase the score on the Flyers
2017 Hornets & Flyers Annual Benefit Hockey Game a HUGE SUCCESS. Video from the Midget Minor's Game with action by the fast moving Hornets on the Flyers goal. The Flyers Club welcomed the Hornets Youth Sled Team to the Skatium on January 8. 2017th for two games supported by donations at the door and raffled items provided by all of the Skokie Hockey Teams along with Notre Dame High School, Skokie Hockey Director Steve Glickman and other generous benefactors. Thanks from the FLYERS go to the Skokie Park District and Skokie Fire Department whose Honor Guard (along with members from Evanston's Fire Department) presented the colors for the Opening Ceremonial and Puck Drop. Thanks to JJ O'Connor Hornets General Manager and all of the Hornets family for visiting with us and letting the Flyers have a terrific time playing hockey with them!

Flyers Pee Wee Minor Belle Tire Consolation Game v. Belle Tire...
Nice go ahead goal for the Pee Wee Minor team in the Consolation Game for Dearborn, MI's Belle Tire "Back to School" Classic v. Belle Tire. Held scoreless and down by 2 points through 2 and half periods, the Flyer's offense awakes with a vengance as they put 5 unanswered goals into the Belle Tire net to win 5-2.

UNDER THE RAFTERS where such incredible hockey was played for generations, Skokie Flyers in PrecisionAAA sweaters scratch the ice in a fun game of "shinny" hockey in Toronto's famed "Cathedral of Hockey" the Maple Leaf Gardens. The kids had a blast and then were treated to a personal tour by Ryerson University Athletic Department staff of the historical and new elements of this great facility. This is one of the reasons tournaments can be so darned cool to do.

First goal of the Semi-Finals v. Cyclones.
SKOKIE Forward Schwartz with the opening goal from Squirt1's semi-finals game against the Cyclones, assist from Long. The play involves all of the skaters on the Skokie team and begins with the defense stepping up to strip the puck from a Cyclone rush, picked up by center Henneghan and then Long, supported by left winger Schwartz and power forward Defenseman Holderfield. Team effort put this one in the net. The Flyers did some pretty good ice management work here. Special Kudos to shift Center Henneghan who really makes this play happen by controlling Cyclones offensemen's movement from mid ice on. Together with the Defensemen they take the ice and then the puck away from the Cyclones.

NALEPA SEMI FINALS OT GOAL v. CYCLONES NIHL WOLVES CUP 2016
SKOKIE FLYERS SQUIRT 1 FORWARD NALEPA'S SINGLE HANDED OT GOAL SENDING THE TEAM TO THE NIHL CHAMPIONSHIP IN JOLIET v. KENOSHA KOMETS, MARCH 4, 2016 @ INWOOD JOLIET. Here scoring on the Cyclones in OT. FLYERS GOALIE HAYNIE AWARDED GAME MVP for a season high performance and an outstanding defensive showing. While the Flyers scored first and early in the first, with a goal by Schwartz assisted by Long, the two teams were tied up in the middle of the second period. The Flyers then scored a go ahead goal in the second period. The Flyers maintained their lead through a third period that was marked by an unhingedly furious Cyclone offensive effort, outshooting the Flyers nearly 2 to 1. However, goalie Haynie kept the Flyer's door shut until the last 53 seconds in the third period when, with the Cyclone's goalie pulled, and an extra skater on the ice, with 53 seconds left, the right winger for the Cyclones swept a deflection rebound from the left corner in behind Haynie, sending the game into OT. Then, in the second play of sudden death OT, right winger Nalepa received a pass from a face off won by the Flyer's in their own zone, he turned on his afterburners bringing the biscuit up through his lane expertly threading the needle though a desperate Cyclone defense that was caught on its heels, turned the corner on the Clyclones left defenseman, firing off a top shelf shot from just outside the crease at top speed from the right side to the upper left hand corner of the goal right past the Cyclones goalie's ear, sending the Flyers into the Championship.

HAHA. Too funny. The Flyers Coaches and managers are going to need to move to the PB if they are gonna keep supporting the team. Ducks v. Flyers. Five - - FIVE - - Flyers in the PB. From this angle this GIF makes them look like refugees in a life boat trying to get into Europe.

When a Charger is guilty of Charging. Squirt 1 played the Chargers in Barrington recently where the Chargers seemed to be more intent upon keeping their penalty box full more than anything else. Here a Squirt 1 Defensemen gets blatantly offended. This is not just bad sportsmanship, this is dangerous play. The Charger leaves his skates as he puts his right elbow up into the neck of the Flyer driving the unprepared Flyer backwards into the boards. It's true - kids make bad choices sometimes, they all do, it happens, it's part of being a kid. This is a ringing example of a really poor choice and how it can make playing hockey dangerous. Luckily for everyone the Flyer was not hurt. No doubt this Charger would have taken it back once he cooled down, especially if he knew that he had just hit the nicest kid on the Flyers (they are all nice - but Bernal is the archangel of the group - he really does have wings - the coaches checked). Ultimately, the system and everyone in the system let this Charger down. This Charger is 10 or younger and is simply sent off to the box to wait out his penalty. Why is it no one is required under any rules to stop play and explain to him what he did was wrong and will not be tolerated by anyone in the rink? This could be seen as a missed educational opportunity. Demonizing a child by yelling out onto the ice in frustration is not the solution here. We should all be united together in supporting all our kids on all of the teams to help make sure they have the support they need to make good choices so that everyone leaves the ice unhurt.

Goal #3 v. Admirals, Squirt 2, 11/8/2015 @ Skatium
SQUIRT 2, down three players and with their BUG "Carter" in goal, with a near shut out 4-1 WIN over the Admirals, pay back for an earlier game that resulted in a Flyers loss. The Flyers played exceptionally well and dominated throughout three periods. Here's a Flyers goal #3. Way-to-GO-FLYERS!!!
