UPDATE Thursday Evening!

The garbage is very heavy on all routes today. Due to the limited amount of drivers and helpers that we currently have, we will not be able to finish all of the Thursday routes. These will be completed tomorrow morning prior to starting the Friday routes.

We ask that residents please not ask the drivers or helpers to wait so you can reload your cart(s). This is slowing down our ability to be able to provide service to all customers. The drivers and helpers have been instructed to not allow this to happen.

Many of our team members are working even though their house was damaged and they still do no have electricity. Please show some compassion to them! We can promise you that they are trying their very best under some very difficult conditions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello everyone. Trusting everyone is safe and sound.

For those homeowners whose units are duplexes (along the bayou side), we are aware that the foyers of these units took on water. Please be aware that whenever you begin the process of removing sheetrock and insulation, debris should be placed into heavy-weight trash bags and be placed by the street for pickup. DO NOT put unbagged pieces of sheetrock or other debris out by the road.

We are aware of fallen trees and debris and will address these as quickly as possible. If you have a maintenance issue, please use the website (www.Chamalecove.org) to report your issue.

We look forward to resuming life in the cove again soon and seeing our neighbors once again enjoying the beauty of our community.

Independence Celebration

The get together on the bayou this Saturday in conjunction with the Heritage Park fireworks display is, regrettably, formally cancelled. The event was announced in the most recent news letter and on the Cove's website, but due to some unexpected scheduling conflicts none of the principal folks organizing the event will be able to attend. Even though it is said to be "cancelled" that doesn't mean any and all who wish to share a good time on the green space of the bayou shouldn't still do so. The common areas of Chamale are for all to enjoy and if you have not done so in the past, you owe it to yourself to spend some time there, bring a blanket or some chairs, raise a cup of your beverage of choice and enjoy one of the best venues to view the Independance Day fireworks. After the fireworks you'll be treated to an impromptu boat parade as everyone leaves the Heritage Park Marina and heads home. If the weather behaves itself, it will make for a good memory.

Sorry that the social committee missed the mark on this one, but we'll look to schedule a similar event once everyone comes home from their mid-summer travels.

Please comment on this post if you wish to connect with others that may be available to share the evening on the bayou.

Happy Independence Day!
Jeff Thoede

The newest addition to Chamale’ Cove. The little free lending library and reading bench. Lots of labor and love went into this little haven. Many, many thanks to Jeff Thoede for building and installing the library (designed to look just like our condos) and for installing the reading bench. Also thanks to Mark and Vickie Myers who donated the reading bench in honor of Mark’s mother Gloria Myers. Stop in for a sit and read. It’s a beautiful spot!
