Vly Farm
Slingerlands NY
Restocked for the weekend. Enjoy!
Who likes heirloom cherry tomatoes? We have some beautiful ones today. The flowers are lovely as well.
The stand is open! We have summer squash and flowers plus some potted herbs. Will add more as soon as the gardens see fit. Looking forward to another season!
This will be the last weekend for the farm stand. We are completely out of pumpkins, but we still have a few gourds, butternut squash, some beautiful flowers and lots of peppers and onions!
It’s time for pumpkins! And, if you aren’t quite ready yet, the flowers on the stand are particularly lovely today as well.
We have corn and it is selling as fast as I can pick it! I promised some of you I would announce it here, so hopefully there is some left by the time you see this. I’ll do my best to keep it stocked through the weekend.
I had a thoughtful customer return a jar this morning so I thought I should let you all know that I’m happy to take the jars back from my mason jar flowers for reuse. I’m pretty passionate about reducing wate, so you’ll notice pretty much everything on the farmstand is either repurposed and/or compostable. So, if you have mason jars you are looking to get rid of, whether you got them from me or not, I’m happy to take them and give them some new life. Just leave them on the back of the farmstand and we’ll find them.
Tomatoes are here! The mixed cherry pints are particularly lovely, with a mix of heirloom and specialty varieties. Enjoy!
This heat has slowed everything down, except the squash, so I put it on sale! I have three varieties- green zucchini, yellow zucchini and classic summer squash.
They are only $1 each. I just saw organic summer squash/zucchini for $6/lb at Hannaford. If you are looking for a great value, this is it. Grill it, make zoodles or grab a big one for zucchini bread!
Farmstand is stocked. Lots of squash, both yellow and green zucchini as well as summer squash, cucumbers, the first tomatoes of the season, fresh eggs (laid yesterday and this morning- in the blue cooler until they are gone), potted basil and mint, and sunflowers to hopefully brighten someone’s day.
Trying something new today! Normally I don’t share, but I put some eggs from my spoiled chickens on the farm stand. These are 100% free range chicken eggs for $5/dozen. If you have never had farm fresh eggs, you will be able to tell the difference. The eggs are all different colors because they come from a cool variety of chickens, who lay a cool variety of eggs.
Also some flowers to hopefully brighten someone’s day. And just for fun, a picture of one of my hens with her babies!
The farm stand is finally open! We were away for a few days, but the garden was busy without us. If you like big squash (zuchini bread anyone?)definitely stop by. Things got a little out of hand while we were gone 😬. We have peppers and cucumbers too and should be adding more things over the coming days.
Everything is organic and grown right here on our property.
We took down the fences and let the deer have at it… I hate to see the growing season end, but am so grateful for all your support. Only 152 days until Spring!
Lots of beautiful tomatoes today!
The farm stand is full, and we have corn just picked this morning. 🌽🌽🌽
Fresh organic string beans, just put on the stand. Come get them while they last!
