🍫 Trick or Treat! 👻

Our library staff embraced the Halloween “spirit” this year by dressing up in creative costumes! From classic ghouls to literary characters, the costumes have created a festive atmosphere. 😃

🎃 Spooky Storytime! 👻

The boys and ghouls were all decked out today at storytime! We read “Happy Halloweenie” by Katie Vernon, picked pumpkins one last time, counted to five in , and put together a frankenfood! We look forward to seeing everyone next week on Tuesday and Thursday at 10AM for storytime about foxes!

⚠️ATTENTION: Upcoming Evergreen Downtime ⚠️

Evergreen is the library software we use that helps our patrons find library materials, and helps us manage, catalog, and circulate those materials. Just a head's up that our Evergreen library software will be inaccessible from Friday, November 1 - Sunday, November 3, 2024 as it undergoes necessary system updates.

This will impact some services at the library on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024. A physical library card will be needed in order to checkout materials from the library on Saturday. Additionally, the following services will not be available:
📍Checking due dates.
📍Checking in materials (items will be checked in on Monday, November 4).
📍Creating new or replacement library cards.
📍Looking up account numbers.
📍Paying material fines/ fees.
📍Placing holds.
📍Renewing materials.
📍Searching the catalog.

👻 Spooky Storytime! 📖

Things are getting spoooooky at storytime! We read “The Bad Seed Presents: The Good, the Bad, and the Spooky” by Jory John and Pete Oswald, reviewed our lizard rhyme and signs, and waved our shaker eggs in the air while we danced to our pumpkin song! Join us again on Thursday at 10AM for our last spooky-themed storytime of the season!

🎃 Spooky Slime Crafternoon! 👻

Check out these slimy sensations made today in Youth Services! Participants could choose to make clear or opaque slime and were able to add in glitter, color, spiders, googly eyes, and more!

Thanks to all who joined us today - We had a blast seeing everyone customize their spooky slimy creations!

We are gearing up for the Thanksgiving Holiday with events such as "Cooking Thanksgiving Sides" (all ages) and "Folded Napkin Turkeys" (teens). Get a jump start on handmade holiday gifts with our "Learn to Finger Knit" class!

We celebrated in Youth Services by learning a few phrases in Italian and working together to build a marshmallow-supporting structure out of…spaghetti! È stato un piacere!!

The Children's Department has some fun programs and events planned for the month of November! We will have several turkey-themed activities where we will celebrate the season of gratitude. We'd sure be grateful if you joined us!
