Tillman House Resource Center

There are many ways you can support our Tillman House ministries, and one of the main ways is through supplies donations. Listed here are the biggest supply needs at this time- we can accept donations in person during our normal service hours, or you can have supplies shipped directly to our facility as well.

The Tillman House staff, volunteers and clients are grateful and humbled by the huge response we received from our community in diaper donations these past two weeks. We asked, and our community certainly came through… so much so that we had to create 2 extra shelves for diaper storage. A great problem to have!

The Tillman House needs your help! We are completely out of diapers at this time and are reaching out to our community for assistance. All sizes are needed at this time.

Donations can be dropped off at the Tillman House or Smyrna First United Methodist Church.

Our clergy at Smyrna First United Methodist Church will join us at The Tillman House for a drop-in Ash Wednesday service on the 14th from 11am-12:30pm. Please stop by to receive ashes as we prepare ourselves for the Lenten season ahead.

We hope you will join us this upcoming Sunday for our 5th Sunday Missions service project. This month we are making winter kits during the 10am Sunday school hour in the Fellowship Hall @ SFUMC.

We are looking to support a local family that recently lost everything due to flooding from the recent stormy weather. If you are able to donate clothing or shoes from the sizes listed above, please reach out to us ASAP.

Tillman's After School Program begins today! We will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-5pm at the Tillman House and would love to have you volunteer with us.

Although the program has started, it is not too late to sign up to join us! We are taking volunteers throughout the entire semester. Please reach out to us for more information if you're interested!

Interested in going on a service trip to Kenya in 2024? Come to our interest meeting THIS Sunday, August 27th @ Smyrna First United Methodist Church!

We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 10am, and classroom A105 at 12pm. Come to find out more information!

A new semester of After School Program is starting on September 5th at the Tillman House and we need volunteers! Anyone who is interested should attend our initial informational meeting on August 15th at 3pm or reach out to us as soon as possible for more information.

Additionally, you can also go ahead and sign up for which days you'd like to participate. The link to sign up for volunteering is posted in our bio.

We are so excited for all this program has to offer and we can't wait for you to be a part of it.

Sebastian Ladino from Kennesaw State University spent his summer as our Community Services Intern and we could not be more grateful for the time he spent with us.

For this month's '5th Sunday Mission Activity', during the 10am Discipleship Hour THIS Sunday @ Smyrna First United Methodist Church, we will be assembling school backpacks for those students in our community that need them.

We are excited to partner with the United Women of Faith on this service project. However, we still need help from volunteers! We ask that you join us on this day to help assemble backpacks as well as learn more about some of the foreign missionaries that we support.

Donations are welcomed as well until the day off! If you cannot donate supplies, please consider a donation of your time and join us this Sunday.

Check it out! Thanks to one of our fantastic young community members, Rory Russell-Tutty, we have the honor of opening Tillman's very own Little Free Pantry!

Anyone from our community can utilize this pantry to pick up snacks, waters, and some hygiene items- even when we aren't open during the day. This pantry is located near Tillman's exit, so next time you're here, stop on by and check it out!

We are so grateful to Rory's dedication to this project. He raised money through fundraisers at school to buy the materials for the pantry, and alongside some family and friends, he built, painted, and installed it for us!

The Tillman House family is extremely proud of Rory for all his efforts to help make his community a better place. On behalf of everyone here at Tillman, thank you so much Rory for everything!!

We had a fantastic time working with the VBX kids from Smyrna First UMC last night! The kids and volunteers helped us reorganize our After School Program's library and refill our new Little Free Pantry. The group also got a tour of Tillman and learned a little bit about what our organization does!

We at the Tillman House are so grateful for the Children and Student Ministries at Smyrna First UMC and their continued support of missions and outreach!
