Just a quick reminder for those studying for the new PMP®Exam starting in Jan 2021. The NEW exam questions aren't limited and drawn only from the PMBOK@Guide or Rita's Exam Prep books.

PMI uses several sources, and it's best for those studying for the exam, use the Examination Content Outline (ECO) in addition to the other books to guide your studies on the tasks that should be mastered to actually pass the PMP®Exam.

I just got my Rita PMP® Exam Prep, 10th Edition. While the Knowledge Area formatting in he book is still in place, there are quite a few changes included! It's essentially 100 pages shorter than the 9th Edition, and incorporates the Agile component and is driven towards Processes & "What PM's should do".

If you haven't heard, Rita Mulcahy Learning Solutions has published the PMP® Exam Prep, 10th Edition!!!

This publication and its contents will apply for all those taking the PMP® Certification Exam after 02 Jan 2021.

If you do not have a confirmed exam date for this year (before the exam changes), will you need this book?

The answer is simple: If you've been preparing with the 9th Edition, you should consider getting the 10th edition to ensure you fill all the "gaps" that the NEW exam may have - with questions not referenced in the 9th Edition.

Here's some "News" about 2 popular PMP® Exam Prep Publications.

Rita Mulcahy's 10th Edition will be available very soon. Most likely this fall or by the end of October!

The NEW PMBOK Guide, 7th edition will contain about 250 pages & will be available in the Spring - However the NEW Exam will be based on the Current PMBOK Guide, 6th Ed. (approx. 750 pages).

If my math is correct - That's a reduction of about 500 pages!!!

Mr. Chris Peterson informed me this afternoon that he passed the PMP Certification Exam today!

Have you heard the latest PMI news for CAPM Holders?

"Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® holders no longer need to reapply and pay ($225 for members and $300 for non-members) to retake the CAPM exam at the end of their certification cycle.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!!

Starting 1 October 2020, CAPM holders will instead start earning PDUs over a shorter certification cycle through our Continuing Certifications Requirement (CCR) program to remain active certification holders, just like what is required of our other certifications.

CAPM holders will only have to earn 15 PDUs over the new three-year certification cycle and pay the certification renewal fee ($60 for members and $150 for non-members)".

This past July another one of our graduates has passed one of the PMI Certification Exams, keeping our student pass rate at 100%!

Mr. Malcolm Tyndall informed me yesterday that he passed the CAPM certification exam. Malcolm passed the exam scoring - At or Above Target in 12 of 13 categories!!

He dedicated himself to this goal and worked tirelessly in his studies. Malcolm went out of his way to set up and lead study groups, assist others in how to complete exam applications, and offered many hours of his private time to aid fellow classmates!

Malcolm is a proactive, "go-getter" who will do great things in our field -- I am extremely proud of him for achieving only one of many successes yet to come.

Class ISPMA2020-06 will run from 15 Sep through 04 Dec.

As you know, the PMP® Certification Exam is changing on 02 Jan, and it's focus will pose a dramatic difference from the existing exam content and domains.

Our goal is to ensure all who are interested in taking the course and scheduling an exam date prior to the changeover have an opportunity to get their training completed.

It's been a topic by those in our industry that - while many people receive project management training, why isn't there a standard set of project management software tools PMs should use as a part of their training?

1. Because of the nature and/or unique-ness of projects? And therefore the tools should be tailored to "fit" the type of projects?

There have been a lot of questions from people scheduled to take the PMP Exam regarding the 10 minute break, mid way through the 4-hour/200 question exam. Here are the rules posted on the pmi.org website.

New! Built-In 10-Minute Break During PMP Exam

Both the OPT and center-based testing PMP exams will now have a built-in 10-minute break. We added the break to ensure candidates could leave the room to use the restroom or address other needs during the four-hour exam. Here’s how it works:

- The exam is now divided into two parts. Once candidates complete the first part of the exam, review their answers, and submit it, their break starts.

- The break is not mandatory. Candidates can break for up to 10 minutes, or they can choose to continue to the second part of the exam immediately after submitting the first part.

- During the break, they can leave the room, but once the break begins, they CANNOT revisit questions from the first part of the exam.

- Candidates must keep track of their break. If they do not return at the end of the maximum 10 minutes, the exam session will be terminated.

- At the end of the break, candidates will be checked in by their proctor and will finish the second and final part of the exam.
