Meet the newest chapter in our story… PRESSTO!
George and Chef Pano and their cousin Kosta have recently opened a new burger concept in our old Snellville spot! We kept our old home just for this and kept it a secret… until now! 😉
PRESSTO! features premium press burgers on brioche buns, Nathan’s beef hot dogs, Milkshakes including Fanta Milkshakes (grape is currently the fan favorite, if you’re looking for a recommendation), homemade coleslaw, fries, and ANOTHER special secret sauce, PRESSTO! sauce, all made by Chef Pano!
Come visit us at our old but new home and try the burgers everyone has been raving about (no, really!)— especially for Fourth of July because WE’RE OPEN!
You can follow us over at and keep up with all the new and exciting things we’re doing!
Can’t wait to see you and hear what you think of PRESSTO! 🥰
While this story is far from over, the final chapter in the Nick Eras ends with his two sons, George and Pano.
Born only a year apart, George and Pano have been in the restaurant alongside Nick since they could hold a spatula. By the time they were pre-teens, they were a team serving soft drinks at lunch, taking out trash in the afternoon, and mopping floors at closing. Nick showed them that everything in the restaurant needed to be of the highest quality, and that included the work they did each day. After a couple of years, George and Pano had worked every job in the restaurant, and their hearts belonged to Grecian Gyro.
After graduating and working in other businesses, George and Pano realized their dream was to expand upon their father’s, and in 2007, with Nick’s blessing (and recipe for secret sauce!) they opened the second Grecian Gyro in Tucker, Georgia – practically in their own backyard. Seeing how popular both restaurants continued to be, George and Pano decided to grow again. In 2008, they opened the third Grecian Gyro in Forest Park. Since then, George and Pano have expanded the restaurant to Dunwoody, Snellville, and Midtown.
As a father, chef, and entrepreneur, Nick trained his sons well, and is confident in the way they work and grow what started as a small Hapeville home into a home found in your own neighborhood, for you to join the seat we saved for you at our family table. 💙
But don’t be surprised if you see Nick at your Grecian Gyro… he still has that dream in his heart, and an eye on making sure that everything is of the highest quality for you, the King. 🥰

Did you know that we’ve been awarded Atlanta’s Best Gyro by Atlanta Magazine for over 30 years? 🤯
A feat earned by the love Nick poured into his Hapeville home. After he opened it in 1982, Grecian Gyro quickly became a legend – lines out the door, customers coming in night after night, and Nick ruling the restaurant with passion, singing to the Greek tapes playing on the boombox and training his staff to be the best in the business.
Just five years later, in 1987, The Atlanta Journal Constitution gave Grecian Gyro a rave review both for the delicious food and the warm ambience. Customers continued to pour in like nobody’s business!
Within another few years, Atlanta Magazine awarded us the coveted “Best of Atlanta” status for Atlanta’s Best Gyro in 1992! A title we’ve held ever since, over 30 years later!
Every time you enjoy a gyro with us, you can trust that it’s the best in Atlanta. Always made with love and Nick’s secret ingredients 🥰
Don Williams was the first person to correctly answer where Nick is: the Parthenon! Send us a direct message so we can gift you your prize!
The word “Parthenon” comes from the Greek word “parthénos [παρθένος]” which means “maiden, girl.”
It is a former temple that was dedicated to the goddess Athena. The decorative sculptures of the Parthenon are considered some of the high points of classical Greek art and is an everlasting symbol of Ancient Greece.
Can you figure out where he is this time? 👀
The first person to correctly identify where Nick is this week will receive a set of Nick’s Sauces and Dressing to use in their own kitchen! 🥰
Today is a special day in the Nick Eras because today is the anniversary of Nick’s immigration to Atlanta! 🥰
His journey into our hearts started when he was born in 1950, in small town Kalamata, Greece. He’s the youngest of NINE children and always had a love for cooking, even as a child. Then, in 1970, Nick joined the Greek military and became a cook! Go figure!
He completed his time in the military in 1973 and was ready for new opportunities and, as he told his mother, a home with electricity. So, with family in Atlanta and a longing for the American Dream, Nick walked onto a flight that would bring him to Atlanta at 8:10PM on June 11th, 1973.
Yes, to this day, Nick can still tell you every single detail about this day. Even the time 🥰
He worked many odd jobs and saved his money until he could open the Grecian Gyro we know and love in 1982. The rest is history!
At 8:10PM tonight, maybe have a gyro with us to honor and thank Nick for settling in Atlanta 51 years ago, gracing us with his heart of gold, love for good food, and a legacy to share with generations to come 💙
Today, we’re going back to 1982…
… when Nick opened the very first Grecian Gyro in a small 900-square-foot, hole-in-the-wall in Hapeville by the airport. He was a one-man shop with only $50 in his pocket and his entire life savings invested.
He could only afford inventory for the first day but he committed to buying fresh produce at the farmer’s market, hand cutting all the meat and potatoes, and making fresh salads with his now famous dressing! He used what he made the first day to start the process all over again the next day. With just him! Our superhero 🥹
We’ve dedicated ourselves to continuing this tradition of doing everything by hand, in house, and always fresh.
And if you know anything about this little shop in Hapeville, you know we have a close relationship with the locals and the airport employees, but especially Delta! They’ve been in our family since the beginning 🫶
One thing about Nick, YOU were the most important to him. His motto was “the customer is king” and he always wanted you to have the best experience. That’s why he made his unique sauce and dressing which he STILL MAKES HIMSELF! So every time you buy a bottle of Nick’s Sauce and/or Dressing, just know that it was made with love by Nick’s hands just for you, the “king” 👑
If you ever visited Nick in his original Hapeville spot, please feel free to share your stories with us so we can reminisce together 🥰
Michael George correctly guessed where Nick was first! Send us a message so we can gift you your prize! 🥰
The answer we were looking for was The Caryatid Porch (or The Porch of Maidens) apart of the Erechtheion temple in Athens, Greece!
Fun fact— These beautiful maidens are actually replicas! The originals are in the Acropolis Museum with one original in the British Museum.
Nick went to Greece! Can you figure out where he is (more specifically the name of the beautiful structure behind him)?
The first person to correctly identify where Nick is this week wins a Grecian Gyro keychain 💙
