Please welcome Berkeley to SSGDR! She is 6 years old and is the sweetest, most well mannered big girl ever! She loves to go on walks and play with her stuffed animals. In her foster home she enjoys getting attention from the 5 year old and 11 year old that live there. She gets along great with the cat and small dog that are in her foster home. Berkeley is VERY well behaved, completely house broken, doesn’t get into anything she’s not supposed to, and only chews her bully sticks. She knows all her basic commands and is a great listener. She’s a bit leery of new people, but a slow approach and some reassurance and she becomes very accepting and relaxed. Berkeley would be an amazing addition to a family looking for a chill Great Dane. She is healthy, spayed and UTD on vaccines. She is being fostered in the Atlanta area.

If you are interested in adding this wonderful girl to your family, please go to our website (www.southernstylegreatdanerescue.com), read the FAQs and then fill out an application.

MOOSE IS READY FOR ADOPTION! Moose is 15 months old and very much a big puppy. He is up-to-date on vaccines and has been neutered and had a gastropexy. Moose LOVES all people, other dogs and cats. He would enjoy a home with larger dogs that he can play with! Moose has no food aggression and eats around the other dogs in his foster home with no issues. After eating, he enjoys lounging on the couch or in someone’s lap! He is house trained and does great in his crate when his foster parents leave.
Moose happily sleeps soundly through the night on his dog bed but would gladly join you in the people bed if given the opportunity. He knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. Moose is very tall and sometimes likes to counter surf. His foster parents are working on teaching him to “Leave It” and he is doing great!
Moose has discovered that ice is delicious and will beg whenever he hears ice coming out of the fridge door. Fortunately, he has not learned to get it on his own. . . yet. 😉 This boy will make you laugh often with his antics and it is amazing the way he can contort his body to get on your lap.
If you would like to add this handsome boy to your family, please go to our website www.southernstylegreatdanerescue.com , read the FAQs and fill out an application!

Zeus is ready for adoption! This tall, exuberant boy is 2 years old, is UTD on vaccines and has been neutered and gastropexied. Zeus wants love all the time and has never met a stranger! He likes to give hugs and is happy to snuggle his head in your neck. Zeus gets along well with the other dogs and cats. There are older children in his foster home that are his cuddle buddies. However, due to his large size and strength, his dane lean could definitely knock down smaller children. Zeus is crate and house trained. He will not tear up blankets, but will tear up a dog bed if left unsupervised for long periods. He also thinks that farm animals could be evil, so a home without those would be best.
Zeus is a loving and loyal companion. Out and about he is sometimes a little protective of his foster mom. Especially against the people in the drive through window, they are definitely sketchy and cannot be trusted! ;-)
Zeus is being fostered in Alabama. This sweet, handsome boy would make a wonderful addition to any family! Please go to our website (www.southernstylegreatdanerescue.com), read the FAQs and fill out an application if you think he may be just the dane for you!

UPDATE: Maddie had surgery and is doing well! Thanks to all who donated to help save her!

EMERGENCY- our girl Maddie that was adopted last week has developed a splenic torsion and is at the ER right now. She needs emergency surgery or she will die. She is only 2 years old. We are asking for donations to help her new owners pay for this surgery. The estimate for emergency surgery $10,000 (see below). We have had a generous donor already commit to the $2000 for the actual surgery, so we are trying to help with the remaining $8000 for diagnostics, hospitalization and monitoring. Please donate if you can to save this beautiful girl's life. Thank you!

He known basic commands and is learning how to walk on the leash and not pull when he sees another dog. He is improving with the use of a leash harness.
