Somers Point’s Beginner Yoga for Seniors
Relaxed Gentle Flow 1 Hour Class Classes will focus on Yoga Poses linking Movement with Breath, increasing strength, and flexibility. Time will be spent on the mat in seated, kneeling and standing poses.

Circle Liquor celebrated Flag Day with the unveiling of a new flagpole. The ceremony was made memorable by the presence of several veterans, who came to honor the flag and partake in the festivities.

Somers Point groups are coming together to create an unforgettable experience during the 2024 "Down to Earth Garden Tour." The Green Thumb Garden Club and the South Jersey Jazz Society are teaming up to feature the Tom Angello Trio, who will provide live jazz at the Somers Mansion Garden from 11 AM to 1 PM. Attendees can also explore the historic Mansion's gardens, observe an interactive bee hive exhibit, and enjoy a student floral art exhibit presented by the Somers Point Arts Commission. This event, set for Saturday, June 22nd from 10 AM to 3 PM, offers a day filled with music, art, and nature, with tickets available for $15 at local markets or on the day at Somers Mansion.

Shore Medical Center announced that Kelly Dwyer, RN, BSN, has been named the June Guardian Angel of the Month for her dedication and commitment to patients. The Guardian Angel program allows community members to honor special caregivers with donations to the medical center. Dwyer, who started at Shore Medical Center as a nurse aide in 2012, became an ICU nurse in 2018 after obtaining her RN certification.

The City of Somers Point is asking you to attend the upcoming Recreation Commission Meeting to go over the type of programs and activities that you would like to see the city start or bring back out of the Senior Center. Yesterday, we gathered with AMVETS Post 911 in Somers Point to honor and remember our veterans at the Memorial Day Ceremony. It was a touching tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Unfortunately due to the weather the Memorial Day parade has been canceled. The ceremony will still be held at the American Legion in Somers Point at 12pm.

Get ready to join us TOMORROW for the Somers Point Memorial Day Parade! Starting at 11 am from Dawes Avenue School, we'll march down Shore Road to City Hall, then north on First Street to Patriots Park for a Memorial Day Service. It's a time to honor our heroes and celebrate our community's spirit!
