Recognizing Perfect Attendance each year from our employees is important part of what we do at Community Opportunities, Inc.! Congratulations to Ms. Beverly Peterson, 2023 House Manager of the Year!!! Beverly is a longtime fixture at Community Opportunities, Inc., she is one of the best! She loves her job, has a tremendously big heart, and is as reliable as they come. Her caregiving is top notch. She is both a leader and great example to her peers! We love you Beverly and thank you for all you do! Well deserved :)

Congratulations to Alex Stephens, 2023 DSP Rookie of the Year! Perfect Attendance, provides great care and the love and passion for our participants and his field is evident in everything he does! Great Job Alex!

On March 3, 2023 at 2:09 pm William Joe Alley was working at our Adult Day Program supervising participants outside during an activity. Suddenly out of nowhere, gunshots rang out and within an instant Joe was hit by a stray bullet immediately knocking him to the ground.

A random gun shooter had shot in the direction of our Day Program causing all the staff and participants to be immediately evacuated inside. Joe was helped up by other brave staff and escorted back inside.

Many of our staff and participants joined Joe on a Zoom call later that week to check in on his recovery...Soon thereafter, one morning Joe, Undaunted, by his experience, walked through the Day Program doors and began teaching, training and providing support to our participants just like he always has done. This is an example of Joe’s courage, passion, and dedication to his work and profession as a DSP.

He is brave, an outstanding person, and a legend. Joe was given one of our agency's highest honors which is to designate him as a Community Opportunities LEGEND OF DSP. We are blessed to have Joe as a vital member of .

Congratulations to Ms. Chrissy Jones! 2023 DSP of the Year. Chrissy works both Residential and Day Program and is a wonderful mentor and example to her peers. She provides excellent care and has a wealth of experience in Behavioral Health. We are so proud and thankful for her! Congrats again Chrissy!

2023 Rising Star Award Winner: Kelsey Choate. This award is given to a new employee who has demonstrated the most promise and potential as a DSP. Kelsey is a compassionate caregiver who consistently goes above and beyond to take care of the participants she serves! Congratulations Kelsey! It is with great sadness we have to say goodbye to one of our most special ladies. Affectionately called "Coda" or "Co Co" by her staff, Ms. Decoda Tarter has passed on to be with her Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. We wish to express our deepest sympathies to her family. Her friends here at Community Opportunities will miss her dearly. We were blessed to be able to serve her. We love you "Co Co". May you rest peacefully and enjoy the comforts of your new home in Glory.
