About: Feda Eid is a Lebanese diaspora photographer and visual artist living in the occupied lands of Wampanoag and Massachusett People - so-called Quincy, MA. Her work explores the expression of heritage, culture, identity and often tense but beautiful space between, what is said, what is felt and what is lost in translation. She captures these emotions through her bold use of color, textiles, adornment and pop culture, linking the past and present. Feda is guided by her family's journey as Lebanese immigrants who fled the country's civil war and her childhood growing up as an Arab and Muslim in the US.
Feda studied Sociology at Regis College and photography at New England School of Photography. Her work has been exhibited at the Peabody Essex Museum, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Lesley University, and The Shed NY, among others. She was 2019 Luminary and Visiting Studio Artist at The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, 2022 Artist in Residence at Mass MoCA Studios, 2022 Collective Futures Fund grantee, and 2024 Foundation For Contemporary Arts grantee. Her recent series صنع في أمريكا was exhibited in 2024 at the Boston Public Library Central Branch, Fort Point Arts Gallery in Boston, MA, as a solo show at FireFolk Arts in Waitsfield, VT, Gazala Projects in Gettysburg, OH and Selva in Brooklyn, NY.

Join us to shake up your writing soul! If you already love writing, or want to try your hand at the craft, this workshop is for you. We’ll use written and visual prompts to stretch our writing muscles. The takeaway can be a new piece you’re proud of, discovering new tools to fuel your creativity, or just enjoying the writing zone with others. (This is not a critique group.) You can use fiction, non-fiction, poetry; whatever style speaks to you. The main goal is to write with gusto! We’ll share some of our responses to the prompts throughout the class. Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil (or computer if you prefer). We’ll be in the Lavender Room for our small group setting.
About the organizer:
Katie Lueders hails from Massachusetts and gravitated toward writing from an early age. She developed her own writing voice with a local group for years, continuing on to explore other workshops/classes in the Northeast. In CA she served as the Workshop Facilitator for an open mic poetry community for several years, reading her poems on the mic often. She has led grief writing workshops for The Compassionate Friends, also serving as a Newsletter Editor for one of their chapters. Katie instructs writing workshops around the Boston area, in single or multiple night events, and looks forward to writing with others whenever possible.
