(I just could not help myself in posting this today on chit-chat Sonora- Patrick Michael Karnahan-) What do you think?
Maybe it's time for a new rail station at Mackey Road, to help out the new casino traffic on 108. The railroad has been upgraded, and the tracks are up to new standards. I am a former employee of the railroad, and the Dinner Train was a great way to visit Tuolumne County. This could be something good in the future. In the old days, lots of folks used the train to get around Tuolumne County, why not again?

A Shay locomotive located a little North of Tuolumne County that is on display? If you have been over to Calaveras County, and took the drive out to the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum, you would see Shay Locomotive Number #4, from the Yosemite Lumber Company.

A group of railfans moved her there years ago, with the plans of operation in mind. Some work had been done on her boiler, but no future plans are in the works to see her run again.
