Organic Intelligence

Organic Intelligence® (OI) is a personal and professional practice of human empowerment, resiliency, and compassion. From a systems science perspective, our program observes that what’s wrong with therapy is the focus on what’s wrong — including the focus on trauma. For our traumatized minds and emotions, it is not by dredging up the past, and not through pain. Instead of therapists’ focusing on w

If you are working therapeutically—as a coach, therapist, mindfulness or yoga instructor—you already know that mindfulness is an essential aspect of healing and growing.
Join us Sunday, Oct 22, 9-11am PDT for a free seminar, Seeing the Mind Web: Meditation, Mindfulness, and Multiple Trauma Vortex, with OI Faculty, Robin Craig.
Register at: https://bit.ly/SeeingtheMindWeb
Robin will share a framework for understanding how the mind operates and how past events labelled as trauma stack up and reveal themselves in what Organic Intelligence (OI) describes as the “Multiple Trauma Vortex” framework.
This 2-hour introductory seminar will also include a brief (25-minute) introduction to the OI Trajectory and Multiple Trauma Vortex framework by OI Founder, Steve Hoskinson.
You’ll learn about:
- The intersection of meditation, mindfulness and trauma
- How understanding one’s mind becomes transformative
- How this transformation is essential for the deepest emergence of being and the OI work in Post-Trauma Growth
This free event will be recorded, and available as a replay for 24 hours after its initial presentation.

Imagine the mind as a web of interconnecting nodes of experience, with information flowing freely between the nodes along emerging web lines. As clinicians, part of our job is to notice where that flow is moving freely and where it is not. Repeated, or fixed web lines point us to what in Organic Intelligence® (OI™) we recognize in the OI course Multiple Trauma Vortex as the “Complex du Jour” (the Work of the Day).
We become able to recognize these Vortices when we are attuning to the client’s system and when our own system is able to freely move with the information the client is offering. This becomes clear when our own conditioned web lines are not taking us out of the present moment.
Join Robin Craig, Certified Meditation teacher, Organic Intelligence® Faculty, and Licensed Professional Counselor, in this free 90-minute webinar where we will explore how our conditioned web lines are established, how we recognize them, and how they can be influenced by presence, our current moment attention.
Specifically, Robin will invite us to see how meditation and/or a mindfulness practice allows these lines to become more visible—in ourselves and in our clients. Simply with this recognition, the untangling of these mind webs begins, as wisdom does her work within.
The webinar will include time for questions and responses.
This free event will be recorded, and available for 24 hours after its initial presentation.

Steve Hoskinson will be presenting on Sunday, June 19, starting at 7:45am PDT:
"Organic Intelligence® and Post-Trauma Growth"
A paradigm is emerging besides Fight/Flight/Freeze & Fawn. Post-Trauma Growth arises in the “window of enjoyment”. The science is clear: connection and growth comes through pleasure. In this experiential workshop we’ll learn the science of a simple, but tectonic shift to biology in its natural ecosystem: positive reinforcement. Founded in the neuroscience of large-scale brain networks, simple practices catalyze embodiment by understanding the brain’s role in bridging inside and outside. This interconnection allows mapping and the brain’s primary function: being ready for what’s next. Rather than sensing inside (interoception), the prerequisite skill is connecting outside — “Orientation” to the environment through the senses. A reassessment of dominant somatic tools for trauma will be offered.

Re-Sync Your Psychology" is how we invite you to reconsider what has been taught about "psychological trauma."
Our history of trauma — personally and professionally — has us looking in the wrong direction. The answers lie not only in another direction, but in another question.
The question is how our systems know how to grow and heal in this very moment.
The End of Trauma Course is built around the way your body, your physiology, is all the time telling you good news: “I know how to grow. I know how to improve. I know how to feel better.” It’s simply the gift of coming back into your nature.

Kevin Lanoue believes that at the core of addiction is a longing — and opportunity for — connection. Recovery is essentially the recovery of relationship to oneself, others and the Cosmos. By learning how addiction is also an adaptation, instead of heaping more shame and blame, real support for recovery emerges from wisdom, acceptance and love. Discover how this addiction understanding can transform individuals and society. Join in the conversation as recovery expert Kevin Lanoue talks about how the addiction neurophysiology changes through positive reinforcement. We'll talk about the new neuroscience of recovery and how it supports hope and the vital work of growing relationship readiness. Mindfulness, Organic Intelligence® and connection in the recovery from addiction happens this week in Clinical Mindfulness.

Timelessness & the Conditions of Our Time: A Conversation with Andi Dumas -- Sunday, Oct 3, from 11am-12pm PDT
Register for free to join the conversation live at: https://bit.ly/ClinicalMindfulness
Where do we come from? What are we doing here? How does our understanding of this develop? How do the personal circumstances of our lives – age, gender, race, class, culture - relate to the infinite or timeless dimensions of our experience?
These and other themes are part of the jam created by Andi Dumas, with Steve Hoskinson, in this week’s clinical mindfulness talk. Join our conversation, and reflect on your own personal and trans-personal questions and experiences.
Andi Dumas is a seasoned psychotherapist. Her early work was in community mental health, in organizations focused on women, children, and gay and le***an issues. For seven years she provided phone counseling to over 7000 people through an employee assistance program. These clients consulted on issues ranging from substance abuse to parenting to workplace dynamics. Since 1993 she has worked in private practice with individual adults and couples. She is a lifelong practitioner of yoga and meditation. For the last 12 years she’s been a student of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, whose rendering of Tibetan Buddhism emphasizes easy application to daily life, and incorporates research on the impact of meditation on the brain.
NEW Episode: Friday, 10 Sept, from 10-11 am PDT
In the next Clinical Mindfulness episode, Steve will be joined by San Diego Psychologist Dr. Heather Berberet for "Healing Couples." Join in the conversation live by being a member of the FREE Clinical Mindfulness series: https://bit.ly/ClinicalMindfulness
Dr. Berberet is an OI Mentor and relationship expert. Over the last decade, she has worked to develop both a conceptual and practical framework of relationship treatment that integrates traditional therapeutic models with the science of biological and psychological evolution which serves as the foundation for Organic Intelligence.
As couples strengthen their orientation skills, deepen their capacity for enjoyment, and grow their tolerance for conflict, they move beyond fears and habits which developed as adaptations to past, dysregulated relationships (aka “baggage” and “triggers”) and increase their freedom to see and be seen, love and loved, and emerge from conflict in their current relationship with greater intimacy and connection.
She will share with the Clinical Mindfulness community about how the OI-informed understanding of the autonomic nervous system translates into therapeutic support for couples. This webinar will be relevant for therapists and for all in intimate relationships, including support to move beyond typical stuck patterns, like “I’m right and you’re wrong”, “you don’t understand me”, “you never listen”, etc.
The outcome? Both parties perceiving their own behavior more accurately and perceiving the other’s internal world more accurately. Says Dr. Berberet, “What’s interesting, and universally true, for a couple feeling hurt and hopeless about their relationship, is that both are having exactly the same experience.”
