A few fantastic recipes from my recent trip to Greece. My daughter and I were lucky enough to take a cooking class in Santorini.
It is no wonder the Mediterranean is home to some of the worlds healthiest people.
The beauty of the sea + the colorful flavor filled and fresh foods - mostly veggies, fruit, and fish.
I hope that you will enjoy these recipes. My gift to you…sorry I could not take you all with me.

I talk with my clients about the importance of connecting to source of nourishment for their mind, body, heart, and soul.
Perhaps the mind needs an inspirational quote. Or the body needs to dance. Or the heart needs a bunch of wild flowers. Or the soul needs a meaningful poem. Often they each have their own appetites and desires.
However, one of the simplest, yet most powerful source of nourishment to satisfy the whole human body is delivered through the Vagus nerve.
The Vagus nerve is the wandering nerve that connects head, heart, and gut and ultimately makes sure nutrients get delivered throughout the body. It is part of the autonomic nervous system.
TRUTH
I have been obsessed with the vagus nerve for quite sometime. So much so that I had a tattoo artist friend of mine tattoo my right rib cage with an outline of the nerve.
I am intrigued by it’s wandering nature and some of it’s mysteries. By it’s importance in regulating everything from the beating of the heart to emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Over the next few weeks I will share with YOU some of the importance of the Vagus nerve and how to heal and activate it as a source of healing.
For now know that it is the longest nerve in your body. It starts at the base of your skull and runs down to your tail bone. It connects to everything in between.
TIP 1 to Vagus nerve health.
The PRACTICE of humming or chanting.
The ancient Hindu “OM” is one idea but you can also choose your own word. A word that creates a deep vibration in your throat and one that you can repeat with strength for several minutes as a practice.
I talk with clients about finding sources of nourishment for their mind, body, heart , and soul. The vagus nerve is also referred to as the wandering nerve. This beautiful connects the mind, heart, gut and …
My oh my. The Mediterranean Sea is so healing! Soothes the body, mind, heart, and soul! ❤️

Simplicity can be very freeing, even when challenging.

We are not all born with examples of great fathers in our life. And, while I have grown to appreciate the virtues of the father I have, albeit complex…I am particularly grateful to witness another kind of fathering. Jeffrey, you impress me every darn day but today I want to tell you that you partially impress me as the father you are.
From less than great s*x to feeling overwhelmed, multi-tasking is not your friend.
It turns out that the propensity to multi-task can change your brain function by diminishing your ability to focus on one thing at a time…even when that thing is important…for example…in the bedroom and for your wellbeing and ease.
Seek ways and opportunities to fully engage in one thing at a time.
- repeat mantra’s or meditations
- engage fully in a conversation with a friend of lover
- take a break and spend time immersed in nature
This week be curious about your natural rhythm. You will know it because it will feel good.
Does this feel challenging to you? If the answer is yes, me too. I have strived to be a multi-tasker in effort to move forward in my life - mostly professionally. I can now see how it has become my default state and am working, mindfully, to turn it off to enjoy a richer experience of life.
Create the life you want to live…and enjoy it fully.
Don’t wait to live the life you want to live. You don’t need permission. You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to feel guilty. You don’t need more money. You don’t need to apologize. You don’t need to wait.
Dial into the essence of who you want to be, the woman you admire, and begin inviting her in…even if it is little by little.
Ask yourself some questions along the way.
- what would she be doing right now?
- how would she handle THAT situation
- who would she be surrounding herself with?
- how would she be walking down the road of life?
Love the life you live and live it, today and everyday.

Finding my space has not come easily. If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would have said “I am living the dream” and I had convinced myself that I was.
It was not until the walls around me came crashing down and I felt like Humpty Dumpty on top of that wall. The truth is, there was NO putting things back together again. The script of my life had changed. It was a confusing and painful time, much of which I still have not reconned with. Finding my way to the yoga mat gave me purpose and place. I am eternally grateful.
I’m dedicated to helping others find the same beauty in what might feel like a challenging time.
I created a series of self-care rituals designed to keep me connected to faith and beauty during an immensely confusing and painful time.
Is there a struggle in your life that is looking for some light?
There is such power in sharing. Tenderness is healing.
Sunday Yum Day. Sunday has become French Toast day.
Stuffed French Toast Recipe
SERVES 2
- 4 sliced GF multigrain bread
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1/3 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
Whisk egg, half and half (or non-dairy milk), sugar, cinnamon, almond extract and vanilla extract.
On one slice of bread place alternating smears of cream cheese and jam (think of a checkerboard pattern). Place the second slice of bread on top (think sandwich).
Soak each side of the sandwich in the egg batter.
Heat skillet, add enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.
Cook each side approximately 3-4 minutes.
I prefer my French toast with Noosa vanilla yogurt and berries.

Changing something as simple as your words you say to yourself changes your body. Changing how you think can change your life.
What one word would change your life if you said it less often?
…”I will never”
…”I am not good at that”
…”There is someone better for that job”
Change begins with small steps. What is one small thing you would change if you decided to take action on living a life of more happiness?
Design the life you want. Do one thing today to bring you more joy.
Don’t be afraid to take risks with your approach interior design. What is the worst that could happen? Repaint, move the furniture, phone a friend…I have this marble table that I love but never had a space for in my house. I have moved it around several times but none of them seemed right. I got the idea to put it in my bedroom against the advice of many. This table was HEAVY and involved a long set of stairs. Phew, it works!!! It is nested in between two windows and has become one of my favorite spots in my house. A cozy breakfast nook, a work space, and pictured here Après-ski" after a warm bath.
Vegan and long lasting. An impressive addition to my adornment.
Happy Day of Love! Love your sweetie, love your family, love your friends, and most of all love yourself.
Spend a little time noticing what appeals to you. Maybe it is a song, a smell, a food, a person or situation, or something that catches you eye at the store.
And notice how you respond to it. How do you feel if you follow your “craving” and indulge yourself? So many of my clients experience shame, guilt, and confusion when making decisions that truly align with their desires.
Prioritize yourself this Valentine’s Day. Even if just for a small part of the day. Start by stating your needs and desires confidently. Trust that your intuition knows not only what you need but also what you want. PS….yes it is ok to indulge yourself just because you want to!
Confidence is built by small opportunities to make decisions that align with you, unapologetically.
This is as much movement as my body can handle right now. Stillness. Day 10 into COVID I am finally starting to feel a little better. 3 days ago it hurt to stand up - so I didn’t. 2 days ago walking up a flight of stairs was exhausting - so I didn’t. 1 day ago returning texts, emails, and phone calls was too much - so I didn’t.
And there would have been a time in my life when I would have tried to push myself to the contrary. Today I am starting to finally feel a bit better. And, I know that my body will be there for me tomorrow. Yoga will be there for me tomorrow. Movement will be there for me tomorrow.
Today, I accept stillness and am grateful that I am able to.
Sending love, wellness, and beauty.
Hey loves, are you struggling to get your life back on track after having had COVID or taking care of someone who has? I am with you. We had what I am calling a COVID Christmas in my house this year and we are at the tailend, but it is lingering.
I am realizing that I don’t know how to be sick! Thinking back to days as a kid, I can recall having a bad cold or the flu. My mom would make me hot water and lemon, get me a stack of magazines (Teen Beat), and popsicles. And there I would stay, in bed, until I was better.
I am grateful that my COVID symptoms were on the mild side. My daughter and partner were not so lucky. And I have spent the past few weeks making them hot water, lemon + ginger and honey elixir from my childhood.
I am very much out of my routine of self care. I have tried to live by the concept of “not breaking the chain” more than one time, even if it means a MAJOR modification in my practice. For example, I typically set aside an hour of movement per day. And I have just not had the energy. Normally I would at least try to stretch, anything that moves my body, in order to maintain consistency. But my body HURTS and I am learning to be ok with this stillness while also not letting it impact a return to the self-care habits that I know make me feel my best.
Today, I am setting an intention and holding space for my post COVID reset to offer best care to my mind, body, heart, and soul.
Mind Reset - Investing in an intentional mantra. “I am flourishing, everyday, meeting myself where I am at and letting that be enough.
Body Reset - Deep breathing and stillness are a part of healing. My body will guide me to add more movement as it has the energy for.
Heart Reset - I have learned a new layer of love and care taking as COVID has impacted my family and loved ones.
Soul Reset - Reconnecting with my sense of meaning and purpose, albeit allowing it to move at it’s own pace..
I am working on managing my post COVID stress through acceptance and moving at the pace that my body and engaging with that which matters the most:
Love
Movement
Equanimity
Healing foods
Learning new things
I am currently loving this!

I am curious if you have taken the time to identify your core values?
It has been an important part of my process in navigating life, even when it is a bit dark.
Core values are the North Star - it orients you in navigating the complexities of life and challenges you to live them fully.
The first step in the Nourish Radiance Method™ begins with identifying the values that you want to own - and see reflected in the foods you eat, the way you talk to yourself, the information you take in, the people you surround yourself with….on and on.
Think of your core values and the 4 legs of a chair. When one is missing you are off balance. That is good information!
What are your core values? Please share in the comments…this is not a pressure cooker question…core values evolve and can change with time or situations.
Xoxo
