America's Best Addiction Treatment Centers 2024 08/08/2024

We're excited to announce that eight of our inpatient treatment facilities were named to Newsweek Magazine’s 2024 ranking of “America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers.” The fifth-annual list honors the facilities that lead their respective communities for quality of service, reputation and accreditation.

RCA at Bracebridge Hall and RCA Capital Region, both located in Maryland, were among the honorees on Newsweek’s list. They were joined by two Massachusetts-based centers, RCA at Danvers and RCA at Westminster, as well as RCA at Indianapolis and RCA at St. Charles. For the first time this year, both Pennsylvania sites, RCA at Devon and RCA at Monroeville, were also named to the list.

"At Recovery Centers of America, we take immense pride in the lifesaving work we do across all our treatment facilities, and it is an honor to be recognized by Newsweek as a leader in our field once again," said Brett Cohen, RCA Chief Executive Officer. "Addiction remains a persistent challenge in every community. We are dedicated to addressing this crisis daily through evidence-based, personalized treatment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of our patients."

America's Best Addiction Treatment Centers 2024 Nearly 60 percent of Americans over the age of 12 used drugs that were not prescribed for medical use in 2022, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) most recent national survey. Join us on Monday, August 5th, at 6:30 PM EST for our next family services webinar: MAT – Medications for Addiction Treatment presented by Alexandra Navas, Nurse Case Manager at Recovery Centers of America at Raritan Bay.

MAT is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders.

Research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat these disorders, and for some people struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery. MAT is also used to prevent or reduce opioid overdose.

A meditative reminder to stay present. The disease of addiction can trick you into fixating on the past or future. We can calm that overwhelm by focusing on the here and now instead. Take today moment by moment.

What happens if you relapse? We have a treatment pathway that specifically focuses on relapses and readmissions. It's important to know that relapse is nothing to be ashamed of; it isn't a moral failing. Addiction is a chronic disease that can include relapse for many individuals. You are not alone. Summers in recovery can be so special.

Here are some things we're soaking up all summer long:

- Enjoying more space at the gym while everyone's on vacation

- Quality time and lots of laughing with the people we love

- Memories we'll remember because we're in recovery

What are you enjoying most this summer?

If you notice any of these symptoms in someone, it’s critical to act quickly and immediately seek medical help by dialing 911. While waiting for emergency services, try to keep the person awake and breathing if possible, and give reassurance that help is on the way. If Naloxone is available, an opioid overdose reversal medication, and you know how to administer it, do so without delay; it could save a life.

Summers in recovery hit different. They look different for everyone, too.

Some take that extra time to enjoy solitude at home, by the beach, a lake, or a local coffee shop.

Of course, many keep busy by attending meetings, hosting barbeques, or doing group vacations.

Others take up new hobbies like camping, working out, fishing, hiking, etc.

Which one are you?

If you're early in recovery and this is your first summer sober, we understand it can be challenging. It can be challenging for people further along in recovery, too.

So, know you're not alone.

All summer long we offer outpatient and inpatient services, meetings, support groups, and sober gatherings.

There's a place for you here.

While every level of care has a role in the recovery process, outpatient treatment can help you transition back to everyday life with the support and tools you need to stay on track.
