Don’t Push Back! ⚠
Dolphins and other marine mammals strand when they are sick or injured. Pushing a marine mammal back into the water delays assessment and treatment from trained responders and can lead to further injury and eventual death. If you see a stranded animal, follow these three steps to help:
➡ STOP: Don’t push them back!
➡ CALL: 888-404-3922 Wildlife Alert Hotline
➡ ASSIST: Follow directions from a trained responder

Burmese Python Bonanza
While on night patrol, FWC Officer Rubenstein encountered Alex McDuffie with the South Florida Water Management District Python Elimination Program. Alex was in the process of catching a recently hatched invasive Burmese Python, so the two teamed up to search the area to see if there were more! Sure enough, they found a female python on a nest with 23 unhatched eggs, along with 18 other newly hatched pythons! The pythons and unhatched eggs were removed from the sensitive habitat, helping to prevent future negative impacts to our native wildlife. Great job, Officer Rubenstein and Alex!
If you have a lucky find like this during the 2022 Florida Python Challenge® competition, it could put you in the running for a $2,500 cash prize! Register now: flpythonchallenge.org/
