Celebrating with a powerful story of legacy and community! Team Friday partnered with the LA City Legacy Business Program and LA Sentinel to highlight Chambers, a Black-owned shoe repair shop in L.A. with deep roots and an inspiring history. Established in 1955, Chambers has been a cornerstone of the community, providing quality service and creating lasting connections for generations.

Fun fact: Nipsey Hussle’s first job was at Chambers, and he later returned to honor the place that played a pivotal role in his early life. Stephen Randolph, the third-generation owner, has kept the spirit of Chambers alive through decades of challenges, from civil unrest to the recent pandemic.

Randolph’s dedication and hard work have made Chambers more than just a shoe repair shop—it’s a symbol of resilience and community spirit. We celebrate Black-owned businesses, the stories, and the incredible journeys behind them. Support and uplift the businesses that make our communities thrive.

Hi, Michelle here! It’s been one month since I graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program, and I am excited to report that we are already taking steps to incorporate everything we learned.

The program was a profound commitment, meeting in person every Friday for 3 1/2 months. The experience was invaluable, providing insights to develop a solid growth plan, navigate financial complexities, and connect with a powerful network of fellow business owners in Southern California.

As the marketing and agency landscape evolves, so must we. 10kSB affirmed the next steps and offered new perspectives for Team Friday. I am more confident than ever that our team has the tools and network to reach its next level.

Two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation, the news of freedom finally reached those still enslaved in Galveston, Texas. On June 19th, 1865, their emancipation was declared, marking America’s second Independence Day.
