Necrotizing Enterocolitis Colitis (NEC) is a devastating disease of premature babies. Also called intestinal gangrene, treatment often results in a colostomy and other long-term complications. NEC can be prevented by feeding preemies human milk. If mother's own milk is unavailable, pasteurized donor human milk is the next best thing.

This Giving Tuesday, we hope you will join us in supporting the . The initiative’s goal is to reach 500,000 ounces of donor milk in 2022 to help replenish milk banks. Thanks to amazing women, 350,000 ounces of life changing breast milk have already been donated! Every ounce of milk makes a profound impact.
MWMMB (a non-profit 501(c)(3) Equal Opportunity Employer), is looking for a full time Donor Screener to join our in-house team. The Donor Screener is not only responsible for the recruitment, intake, and initial screening of potential human milk donors from across the regions. But this team member will also participate in medication review, lab review, and approval of Donors in accordance with HMBANA Standards.
Essential Functions:
• Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates compliance with all MWMMB and HMBANA policies and procedures related to Donor Screening
• Competently and compassionately performs all of the Donor Screening and Coordination duties including, but not limited to:
o Conducting and evaluating pre-screening forms of potential donors
o Verbally interviewing potential donors per guidelines
o Completing all donor records and associated documentation accurately and within defined time frames
o Communicate regularly with donor candidates during the screening process, and then monthly during active donor status, while keeping the donor tracking record up to date.
A successful candidate will be energetic, work well with team members from all departments in the Milk Bank, and provide meticulous attention to detail. Experience in Women's Health, Neonatal, or Pediatric health care, lactation, and breastfeeding will provide an advantage to the incumbent learning this new role, but is not required.
MWMMB (a non-profit 501(c)(3) Equal Opportunity Employer) is looking for a part time (20-24 hours per week) lab technician to work 9:30 AM to 6 PM in our donor human milk pasteurization lab.
This position works out of our South Salt Lake location to provide pasteurization and distribution of donor human milk to local and regional hospitals and families.
Experience with food handling is very helpful.

• Coordinates and/or completes cleaning and disinfection processes for lab, supplies and equipment as indicated by regulatory protocols.
• Completes and documents quality checks on all lab equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and food safety guidelines
• Monitors and records all key process indicators for all phases of milk processing
• Other duties as assigned
A successful candidate will demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude, ability to work closely with team members, and great attention to detail.
Food handlers permit or obtain within 1 week of employment is required.

This position may be full or part time depending on the selected applicant's needs.
Our HMBANA accredited Donor Human Milk Bank serves the community by recruiting and screening candidates who are interested in donating human milk for processing, pasteurizing, and distribution to premature and medically fragile babies across Utah and Southern Idaho.
This on-site Registered Nurse position is vital to extending services to our Spanish-speaking communities.
The RN Donor Screener is responsible for the recruitment, intake, and initial screening of potential human milk donors from across the regions. The RN will also participate in medication review, lab review, and final approval of Donors in accordance with HMBANA Standards. On the job training will be provided, as this is a unique role for an RN.
