The ENERGY STAR® Rule Your Attic! 2020 Fall Promotion begins September 14!

Join ENERGY STAR, utilities, retailers, manufacturers, energy-efficiency programs, and contractors in saving energy by improving America’s under-insulated homes. Rule Your Attic! provides a simple messaging platform to educate homeowners on the problem of under-insulated homes. Once a homeowner understands the problem, there is a better opportunity to offer services to solve the problem.

This campaign will be focusing on raising awareness around the benefits of sealing and insulating as well as encouraging homeowners to take advantage of the tax credit for insulation before the end of the year!
How to Participate
Participation is easy. Just use the phrase “Rule Your Attic!” or in your insulation promotions to connect with a wide group of like-minded organizations to help encourage homeowners to check their insulation levels and take action to make improvements. This promotion takes place over a three-week period beginning Monday, September 14 and runs through Friday, October 2.

I needed some supplies yesterday for my customer/job and went to Alside Alside Supply Center Ronkonkoma office. After waiting I was told my account was "locked" (reason unknown) and had to call their corporate office. I immediately hung up and went to Allied. I had been dealing with this company for close to 30 years, hadn't purchased in a few years because of a previous poor customer service experience but I said I'll give them another shot. They have been behaving in a similar manner for decades now. TOTAL JOKE, stay away as there are far friendlier suppliers that care about a customer and a sale. Interesting that they deleted their review page

Check The Insulation in Your Attic – And Install More If Needed.

Important: proper insulation keeps your home warmer in the winter but also cooler in the summer!

If you have an unfinished attic, pop your head up there and take a look around. You should see insulation up there between the beams, and there should be at least six inches of it everywhere (more if you live in the northern part of the United States).

If there’s inadequate insulation up there – or the insulation you have appears to be damaged – install new insulation. Here’s a great guide from the Department of Energy on attic insulation, including specifics on how much you should have depending on where you live. Many states offer financial incentives, up to a 75% refund for instance, to encourage homeowners to better insulate their homes.
