As students to return to classrooms across Massachusetts in the weeks ahead, we’re asking drivers to please remember many children and caregivers are learning a new routine. Getting to and from their school may involve walking along and across our roads, waiting for a bus, or driving in and out of an unfamiliar school campus. All of us can do our part to support them by:

👧Driving carefully with awareness of children who may run into the road
🚌Stopping for buses with flashing lights (regardless of which side of the road you’re on), and
🛑Respecting school zone speed limits that begin with the start of the new term

Active Parenting is a 6-week program covers topics like mutual respect, cooperation, communication, responsibility, and self-esteem, plus how to lead tough conversations about issues like drugs and alcohol. Connect with other parents facing similar goals, challenges and successes through the teen years, and learn evidence-based techniques for holding boundaries while maintaining your relationship with your child.

Want to make an impact in our community by voicing your opinions, concerns and ideas? Join tomorrow's focus group for the South County Community Needs Assessment! Wednesday, June 24th at the Tri Community YMCA from 11am-12pm. Food and childcare available. All participants will receive a $25 gift card.

The results of the Community Needs Assessment will help local organizations, like the Family Resource Center, to better understand and address the needs of our community.

Our friends Diana & Nicole from the YOU Inc. Young Parent Support program are kicking off two new parent-child groups at the Family Resource Center!

Every other Tuesday from 11:00am-12:00pm, bring your infants and toddlers for a play time designed for ages BIRTH TO 3 YEARS.

Every other Thursday from 11:00am-12:00pm, join for engaging and collaborative play activities for you and your little ones ages 3-6 YEARS OLD.

Join us on July 18th at the Southbridge Family Resource Center to talk about water safety with the YMCA's Maura Power. One hour workshop for parents and caregivers to learn how to keep your kids safe this summer around pools, lakes and other water.
