Just a girl on her journey to grow out her natural color because we don't need to be afraid of embracing that natural Grey anymore ♡

She chooses to just let it go for a bit while we continue to tone her down, heal her hair with quality non toxic products, and next time, we will highlight only to break up her color even more》

You have more options than you think & I will always offer my clients just that, we have the freedom to choose how we go natural ✨️

Add this to your list of healthy hair habits you need to be doing if you're on this journey with me》

The scalp needs to be taken care of just as much as the hair itself! Using your hands or scalp tools & adding in good oils that soothe & promote growth in the scalp. I love to do this before I wash my hair for a little scalp therapy.

It's an underrated tip that can be so game-changing when you start incorporating this into your wash routine. I promise you won't regret it ✨️

It's that end of summer hair care that means the most》 Here is what you need to know ✨️

Summer is actually the season that is harshest on the hair. This is due to humidity, sun exposure, being in different bodies of water, changes in your water at home & more.

This is why it's super important that you start prioritizing treatments even more so now. Especially if you see your stylist when you should. Think about adding a treatment to help combat things like build up, breakage, frizz, dullness & color fading.

It's also a great time to give your hair a good cut to get all those dry summer ends off. If you want to continue on your healthy hair journey thru the year, you'll thank me later ♡

Did you know that hairloss and vacations go hand on hand? How? Taking a break from this crazy thing called life will reduce your stress & in turn help prevent unnecessary hair loss from just that.

Stress is one of the number one things that can cause you to experience hair loss. It is traumatic to the body to always be in a stressed state.

If there's one thing I've learned as a business owner in this industry is that it's just as important to take time for yourself as it is to work hard.

This is your sign to take that time off for yourself ♡

I'm back behind the chair from doing just that and I can't wait to create new hair with a refreshed soul》

Do you know the importance of a leave in conditioner?
It helps》
☆Add proteins & moisture to the hair it loses thru chemical services, the environment & everyday wear and tare
☆Seals the cuticle down to help prevent color fading
☆Acts as a heat barrier from blow drying & hot tools
☆Prevents frizz from happening
☆Aids in building & repairing from any damaged caused by chemical services, heat, ect.
▪︎
If there's one product I can have my clients use while they are not in my chair, this is a must! I direct them to the one that will fit their needs & I'm happy knowing they are taking care of their hair at home😊》

Are you a bride who is planning on having a style that's up or half up? Here's what you need to know》
▪︎
My top tip for bridal styles is adding natural dimension into the hair before the big day! Why?》
▪︎
If you look at any hairstyle that incorporates details, braiding, Curls ect notice that 9 times out of 10 those styles have highlighted hair or hair that's a lighter tone.
▪︎
This is because it captures the best in photos.👌 That dimensional color accents the hair to show the detail in pictures of your hairstyle, especially if you're doing braids.
▪︎
So if you don't have this on your to-do list, make sure it is something you're considering ♡

𝐔𝐧𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜》𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬
Maintaining good health is crucial for having healthy hair because the condition of your hair is often a reflection of your overall well-being. This can contribute to hair loss problems. Here are reasons why your health is important for healthy hair:

• Nutrient Absorption: Your hair follicles require a range of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and proteins, to grow and remain healthy. These nutrients are obtained through your diet and are absorbed by your body. If you have poor nutrition or suffer from nutrient deficiencies, it can impact the health and appearance of your hair.

• Hormonal Balance: Hormonal imbalances can contribute to hair problems such as excessive hair loss or thinning. Your overall health, including the functioning of your endocrine system, affects hormonal balance. Conditions like thyroid disorders or polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) can negatively impact your hair health.

• Stress Management: Chronic stress can have a detrimental impact on your hair health. Stress triggers the release of hormones that can disrupt the hair growth cycle and lead to hair loss or thinning. Maintaining good health involves managing stress levels through relaxation techniques, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle, which can positively affect your hair.

• General Well-being: When you're in good health, your body's natural defense mechanisms work efficiently. This includes your immune system, which helps fight off infections or scalp conditions that may affect the health of your hair. By maintaining overall health, you reduce the risk of various health issues that could indirectly affect your hair.

It's important to know that while good health is a factor for healthy hair, genetic factors, hair care practices, and external factors (like environmental damage or excessive styling), also plays a role.

☆So, it's essential to adopt a holistic approach that includes a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management, and proper hair care practices to promote healthy hair. 》》

When you apply things like hair masks & toning shampoos, you want your hair to get the most out of all the things, right?
▪︎
Well, what happens if you just use them over build up on the hair? More than likely, you'll see a difference, but it won't be much.
▪︎
It will end up just coating the very outside of your hair & potentially wash out the next time you shampoo.
▪︎
Doing this could also cause more build-up that can contribute to greasy, dull looking hair & if you add heat into the mix, you could be causing chemical reactions that lead to breakage.
▪︎
If you want healthy hair, then a clarifying shampoo has to be a part of your wash routine.
▪︎
Your regular shampoo isn't meant to remove the actual build-up on your hair you get from things like your water, products, ect.
▪︎
Think of your regular shampoo as part of the system that treats your hair for whatever it may need.
▪︎
Do yourself a favor & add clarifying shampoo to your routine, you'll thank me later ✌️

Here are the tips you need to know to get and keep your formal styles》
▪︎
☆ Inspirational photos》
This might be obvious, but what you don't know is that you should be looking for multiple types of inspo pictures. Not just set on one style. Your hair may or may not be able to be put up in a certain way so I have my clients come with me then one option in case we can't achieve a style with there hair type & length.
▪︎
☆ Clean dry hair》
This one is super important because people think dirty works better. It actually makes it harder for me & because I need to add products for hold & texture, it can make your style fall faster or not hold well if you come in with dirty hair.
▪︎
☆ Prep with products》
If you're going to put anything in your hair, after it's cleaned, of course, I suggest only leave in spray or mousse. This is super helpful to set the base for your hairstyle.
▪︎
☆ What you wear to your appointment matters》
This one you might not think of, but it is super helpful! Come to your appointment with a button-down shirt or a tank that can be easily removed. This way, you can change into your formal wear without ruining your hairdo.

07/18/2024

Stop, read & save this for later✅️ it's even more important to do this with all the humidity we are experiencing this year. Let me explain》》
▪︎
The humidity we are experiencing is actually pulling out all that good stuff you use and add to your hair. This makes your hair more frizzy, prone to breakage & unmanageable.
▪︎
The best way to help combat it is to do cold water rinsing. It's a game changer for keeping in that moisture, lock in your color, and keeping your natural healthy shine to your hair.
▪︎
This also means fewer tangles to deal with, which is another no-brainer when it comes to healthy hair.
▪︎
Less tangles, less chance of breakage, locked in moisture = more manageable, healthy hair ♡

07/17/2024

ℍ𝕠𝕨 𝕥𝕠 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕥 𝕗𝕣𝕚𝕫𝕫 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕘𝕠𝕠𝕕》🪄
Here's the deal: Frizz doesn't just happen. There's always a reason for. It can be caused by humidity, lack of moisture, using rough fabrics to dry your hair, and damage done by hot tools and chemicals.
▪︎
If you want healthier, frizz free hair, here's what you can do》》
▪︎
☆ Use a leave-in conditioner before styling or letting your hair dry. Don't be afraid to really saturate because chances are you're not using enough.
▪︎
☆ Get yourself a micro fiber towel to dry or out your hair up in. They are much more gentle and don't cause friction, which leads to frizz.
▪︎
☆ Use a hair mask once a week or based on your stylists' recommendations. Whether you're coloring your hair or not, everyone should be using one for their hair type.
▪︎
☆ Use a sulfate free shampoo. They tend to be more gentle on the hair and are less likely to strip moisture.
▪︎
☆ Reduce your heat usage on your hair, and I think that goes without saying that heat is drying.
▪︎
☆ Maintain a healthy diet: A healthy diet rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals can help promote healthy hair growth and reduce frizz
▪︎
Save this for later ✌️

This is so important to know if you don't already》 Here's the breakdown ✨️
▪︎
A regular shampoo could never properly clean your hair if it's full on a weeks worth of buildup from scalp oils & product.
▪︎
That's where a clarifying shampoo comes in to really break down everything and properly clean your hair.
▪︎
But, if you're someone who is washing more than twice a week, having your recommended regular treatment shampoo for your hair type and a clarifier once a week is gonna be your wash system.

How to be a low-maintenance blonde 》
I like my blondes healthy & low maintenance, but in order to be that, you have to know a few things》》
▪︎
You need dimension in your color, which means not making every piece of your hair blonde. I can strategically place your color where it would naturally be seen in your hair & so make you feel nice and bright. Less blonde equals lower maintenance & healthier hair.

Embrace warmer tones of color, don't be afraid of your natural warmth because you'll spend more time fighting it if you don't. Warmer blondes also equal brighter color.

Home care is one of the most essential things if you want to be a healthy, low-maintenance blonde. You need to do all the things that are recommended for home care for your needs in order to maintain this look.

Staying on a schedule of maintenance appointments with your stylist so that you're taking care of this color professionally also. What does this look like? Trims & treatments, my friends are the biggest key to your healthiest low-maintenance hair.

Do these things & you can achieve being a low maintenance blonde ♡

The most important time of the year to make sure your doing all the things to keep your hair healthy is summer & here's what you need to know》

Taking care of your hair in the summer is important if you want to have healthy hair. Consider these factors when in the season of the sun 🌞

• Sun Protection: The sun's UV rays can damage hair, leading to dryness, brittleness, and color fading. Protecting your hair can help maintain its health and appearance.

• Hydration: Hot weather and sun exposure can dry out hair, making it prone to breakage and frizz. Proper hydration helps maintain moisture levels.

• Avoiding Chlorine and Salt: Chlorine in pools and salt in seawater can strip hair of its natural oils and cause damage. Rinsing hair after swimming and using protective products can help mitigate this.

• Preventing Damage: Heat styling combined with hot weather can increase the risk of damage. Using heat protectants and minimizing heat exposure can help preserve hair health.

• Maintaining Style: Humidity can cause frizz and make styling more challenging. Using anti-frizz products and protective hairstyles can help maintain your preferred look.

Summer hair care helps keep your hair healthy, hydrated, and looking its best despite the seasonal challenges. Make sure your doing all the things & save this for later ♡

If you're not maintaining a schedule with your hair, then problems start to build up.

For as long as I can remember, we've been told we only have 2 options when it comes to our natural hair color as we age. Cover it or let it go & deal with it.

But what if you don't want to be married to color every 4 to 6 weeks, and what if you also don't like your natural color but wouldn't mind a little grey showing if it gave you the freedom to switch up your color while still being low maintenance?

I'm here to tell you there are options! No longer do we feel the need to completely cover our hair as we age. You can embrace your natural, be low maintenance, and not feel like you need to be back in the chair every other month for a color.

What does this look like》
A demi permanent hair color ( think lipstick vs. lip gloss )
Permanent covers like a lipstick & demi like a lip gloss

It gives you the freedom to go longer with your colors without being married to roots as long as you're okay with a little of your natural showing thru.

This also allows for a more seamless blend when adding in natural looking highlights.

Another benefit》 is a healthier option with less damaging effects. What could be better than that?

Here's one of my clients on her journey of trying just that ♡ we are gonna embrace her natural while seeing how her color wears with a demi instead of completely covering her grey & in her for it》》》

This post was really hard to write... it is with such great sadness that I have to say my favorite hair product company will be no longer....

Due to unfortunate circumstances with the way things are these days, the company has informed me that they will no longer be in business.

As someone who truly loved this brand and what they stood for, I am heartbroken.. but we must move on. I am just grateful to have supported & been a part of this company's journey in the clean hair care space. They truly will be missed by not just me but my clients who loved them too.

Not to worry, my friends. I have already been on a mission to find a comparable product line for us to continue to use on our healthiest hair journeys, so please stay tuned and don't panic!

I will be ordering extras of my other line for the time being until I have reached a decision on the line I feel is right for what is needed. I'm hoping it will fill my shelves with new things by the end of summer max. Preferably sooner, so I'm doing the best I can.

If you need help with anything, please reach out, but what i have currently in the salon will be the last of what I carry for kavella♡

Cutting off split ends is important for the overall health and appearance of your hair.
▪︎
Split ends happen when the protective outer layer of your hair cuticle becomes damaged, causing the hair to split into two or more strands.
▪︎
This can be caused by a variety of factors, such as heat styling, chemical treatments, and environmental damage.
▪︎
If split ends are not trimmed, they can travel up the hair shaft and cause further damage, leading to breakage and thinning of the hair. This can result in a dull, frizzy, and uneven appearance.
▪︎
When you cut off your split ends, you can help prevent further damage and breakage and promote healthier hair growth.
▪︎
Regular trims every 6-8 weeks are recommended to maintain healthy hair and prevent split ends from occurring in the first place.
▪︎
Also, using gentle hair care products and avoiding excessive heat styling can also help to prevent split ends》》✌️

This is so important if you want your hair to always be healthy》 ✨️Scalp therapy ✨️
Scalp therapy is a type of treatment and practice aimed at improving the health of the scalp, which helps promote healthy hair growth. These are some reasons why scalp therapy is important for healthy hair:

• Cleansing and Exfoliation: Scalp therapy often involves gentle cleansing and exfoliation of the scalp. This removes dirt, excess oil, and product buildup that can clog hair follicles and inhibit healthy hair growth.

• Stimulating Circulation: Massaging the scalp during therapy increases blood circulation. Improved circulation ensures that hair follicles receive an adequate supply of oxygen and nutrients, which are essential for hair growth.

• Balancing Sebum Production: Proper scalp therapy can help balance sebum (natural oil) production. Excess sebum can lead to greasy hair and scalp issues, while too little sebum can cause dryness and itching.

• Reducing Scalp Inflammation: Some scalp therapies include ingredients that have anti-inflammatory properties, which can soothe scalp conditions like dandruff, psoriasis, or eczema. A calm scalp environment is conducive to healthy hair growth.

• Nourishing Hair Follicles: Scalp treatments often incorporate nourishing ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, and essential oils. These nutrients help strengthen hair follicles and improve the overall health of the hair shaft.

• Promoting Hair Thickness and Strength: By addressing scalp health, therapy can enhance the strength and thickness of individual hair strands. This reduces breakage and promotes stronger, more resilient hair.

Scalp therapy is good for healthy hair because it creates the best environment for hair growth by maintaining scalp health, improving circulation, and nourishing hair follicles. It addresses underlying issues that can affect hair quality and supports the natural growth cycle of hair.

I'm excited to slowly start introducing scalp therapy into my business, and if you haven't started with a good detox, you're really missing out ♡

Keeping your hair healthy during the summer can be challenging with sun exposure, heat, humidity, and other factors. Here are top healthy hair tips》

• Hydration: Drink plenty of water to keep your hair hydrated from the inside out.

• UV Protection: Wear hats or use hair products with UV protection to shield your hair from the sun's damaging rays.

• Conditioning: Use a deep conditioner or hair mask regularly to replenish moisture and repair any damage.

• Limit Heat Styling: Minimize the use of heat styling tools like flat irons and curlers, as excessive heat can dry out your hair.

• Trim Regularly: Get regular trims to prevent split ends and keep your hair looking healthy.

• Protective Styles: Consider wearing protective hairstyles like braids or buns to minimize exposure to environmental factors.

• Gentle Handling: Be gentle when brushing or combing your hair, especially when it's wet, to prevent breakage.

• Avoid Chlorine and Saltwater: Use a conditioning spray to saturate your hair before getting in the water and then rinse your hair thoroughly after swimming in chlorinated pools or saltwater to remove damaging chemicals.

• Use a Wide-Tooth Comb: Use a wide-tooth comb instead of a brush to detangle your hair, especially if it's wet, to prevent breakage.

• Choose the Right Products: Use hair products formulated for your hair type and needs, such as moisturizing shampoos and lightweight conditioners.

• Make sure to use a detox shampoo once a week to remove the buildup of summer from your hair & book a professional summer detox for a deeper clean. Especially if you swim or have well water to deal with this summer.

By following these tips, you can help maintain healthy and beautiful hair throughout the summer months. Save this now and thank me later ♡

▪︎
Complimentary hair colors are important because they enhance your features and skin tone, creating a harmonious and attractive look.
▪︎
The right hair color can help to brighten the face, highlight features, and add depth and dimension to the hair.
▪︎
Choosing a color that is not complementary to the individual's skin tone can result in a washed-out, unappealing look.
▪︎
If you work against your natural colors, then you will require more maintenance and things to keep that look.
▪︎
Don't be afraid to embrace what naturally looks best on you. You'd be amazed what the right colors can do for ✌️This babe let me add some strawberry copper tone for a kiss of warmth to her color. It brightened her up so much more than the ashier gloss e usually do, and I'm hear for it ♡

Halfway thru the year & I'm grateful to say I can celebrate some big wins. As a business owner, it's not been easy building myself, but 14 years of struggle & hard work have finally paid off!

Not only did June mark 7 years in business (which happens to be one of my lucky numbers) I finally was able to quit my last extra job at Cumberland farms after working there on top of the salon for 14 years just to be able to do what I truly love.

I can finally take time for myself & know my business will still be there thriving. That's the best feeling ever!

To say I'm grateful for how awesome my little business is doing is an understatement. My hard work on the brand I've created, my website, all my supporters, clients, friends & family that helped me get to this point, thank you!

So this vacation back home was a well deserved celebrating with family, my pups, boats rides on the lake, relaxing by the pool, seeing Kane brown & lots of sun it was one for the books.

Now bring on all the summer things because it's going to be epic & I'm ready to be behind the chair with my clients 100% ♡

This was one of my record-breaking services, & it was worth all the hard work, time & patience that went into it.

When it comes to this type of coloring, I'm 100% up front & honest about what it will take to get there. My awesome client was more than willing to let me do whatever it took to get her back to her natural color & was okay with everything that would go along with it.

We spent a literal day together breaking down old color, detoxing, and treating as we went, and in the end, it was about a 10 hour service. But it's totally worth it, We are so happy with the outcome!

She is as close as you can be with artificial color to her natural, minimal damage, along with the perfect new cut for a refresh. She has the tools to take care of it out of the salon, and I'll see her again in the future for just maintenance.
