🚨Attention Tax Payers 🚨 Please note that the IRS has extended the deadline for Disaster Declared Areas until June 17, 2024!
MICHIGAN is indeed a federally declared disaster affected area due to the storms from Aug 2023. So as a MI resident you do not have to worry about an extension unless you need longer then 6/17. No extension needed if you plan to file by the new deadline.
If you expect a refund please keep in mind the tax deadline never applies to you. Refunds have 3 years to be claimed. Only those who owe taxes need be concerned with the deadline.
