Are you slipping and sliding around in the cold weather? Maybe your tires aren't up to the task of winter time driving conditions. The tire on the right is the old and the left the new. All those little grooves called sipes are what keeps you in control during slick conditions. 4x4 does no good without a good set of tires. Call or come on by and we can make sure you are safe this winter. 775-352-9465
Don't forget to do basic maintenance to your vehicles. Spark plugs need to replaced from time to time. I just removed the one on the left from a truck that the owner claims lacked power. Im surprised it still ran.
This is a first.
Some days we get to work on some pretty cool stuff.
Be careful when you add lift blocks to your trucks. Make sure you get the proper u-bolts and blocks for the vehicle. This truck was recently purchased and had the incorrect u-bolts installed which could've broken suddenly. We installed the correct kit and now it's ready to go.

This what a really bad head gasket failure looks like while doing a block test. Normally you get a few bubbles and eventually the fluid color changes but this is a good one.
I really hit this subject hard in my Auto 101 class I teach.... Make sure your wheel fitment is correct if you are installing aftermarket wheels. Be especially mindful of the offset of the wheels you may be installing. This was a vehicle that came in today for an alignment that clearly had the incorrect offset for the wheels to fit like they should. The tires are rubbing on the steering knuckles and will eventually blow out. If you need help with wheel fitment please call us for any advise or to find the correct wheels and tires for your vehicle. 775-352-9465

So, while I was diagnosing a cooling fan issue in this Jetta TDI I stumbled across this. NEVER use wire nuts and chopped up extension cords to fix ANYTHING in a vehicle people. These cars do not need any help developing issues. If you are going to have repairs done on your car make sure it is done the right way. Now I have to eliminate this terrible repair and figure out why the fans quit in the first place.
