I'm Jessica and This page is to show you the product that is created in my home for sale, for those More and more often, we see it or hear about it. Her allergy?
Someone has a food allergy that can severely hurt an individual or even kill them. Well this is nothing new in my life. My daughter is like this. Tree nuts. Even breathing the oils of them in the air, will cause an affect to her that is undesired. She is the reason for the way I cook and bake. When she got into 2nd grade, I had noticed how many others had allergies similar to hers. Grant you she's
the only one who has the tree nut allergy (so far), however there were the peanut, gluten, dairy and soy. I have to send in home baked treats for special occasions, just so that she can partake in birthdays and such. If it's her special day, then EVERYTHING is made from scratch so that all the kids can enjoy a treat, that wouldn't hurt them (class of 28 students and we have ALL the major allergies). I love to bake and happen to be good at it, so it was never an inconvenience to do this. Going out on "dates" with someone who has allergies, can also be just as tricky. You have to have an EPI pen with you at all times. You have to check, recheck, talk to staff and possibly even the manager/chef before even ordering. Wholly cow, don't even get me started on bakeries when a food allergy is presented. Did you know that in my location (west Michigan) the closest bakery to cater to those with allergies, is 2+ hours away? That's unacceptable to me. So here we are. I have decided to put what I love to do, to good use. I am working my way up to a storefront. So I have to start at the bottom. I bake out of my home at the moment but am getting my ducks in a row to build a safe/sterile kitchen. Now, I know some of you may know what a safe kitchen is, and are reading this with a funny face at the word sterile. By that I mean, darn near medically sterile. There will be a "mud room" before entering the kitchen. In this area, coats come off, hair nets applied, and shoes are changed. I know that may seem a lil extreme and unnecessary but I assure you, it's a step I feel safest with. You never know what oils your outer wear has been in contact with, let alone your shoes. I mean have you ever just watched the ground as you walk (Safely that is)? It's nasty. If I wouldn't feel safe giving it to my child, I will NOT give it to yours. I know the sacredness that our children hold to us, and see them all as mine when doing what I love. Well needless to say, this is what is next for me. A safe/sterile kitchen for those to be able to have baked goods that they can trust. I will post pictures of the things I bake up so that you can further see what is being done. However, feel free to contact me if you have questions. Have a great day!
