July is Sarcoma Awareness Month, a time when the sarcoma community comes together with a mission to raise awareness about this often overlooked cancer and to highlight the unique challenges faced by patients and their families. Sarcoma is a rare cancer in adults but rather prevalent in children (about 20% of all childhood cancers). We recognize the importance of an early and accurate diagnosis, and we support the patients and families affected by this type of cancer.
Happy Independence Day! We're wishing you all a fun and safe holiday.

Happy Freedom Day! Juneteenth celebrates the end of legal slavery in the United States. As an organization that serves communities across the Southeast, we know how important it is to look back at our region's history and examine the ways it still has an impact today. While Juneteenth is a celebration, we also want to recognize the ways in which there is still work to do and how the legacy of slavery impacts the people we serve every day.
There are a lot of complicated emotions and challenges people face when caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. It’s vital that caregivers have their own support system and access to specialized resources.
We want to thank the caregivers – the most important, yet often overlooked member of patients’ care teams. However, we don’t believe in just saying “thank you.” We believe in taking action and providing support. Happy Pride Month!
This month, we're reflecting on how the LGBTQ+ community's history and the history of hospice care in the U.S. are deeply connected. The rapid expansion of hospice and palliative care availability in the 1980s was directly connected to the AIDS epidemic. Hospices across the country sought to provide symptom relief and support to AIDS patients. We're proud to honor that history and work to ensure that LGBTQ+ members of our community get the care they need during their end-of-life journeys.
It’s Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and we’re highlighting this diagnosis and those impacted by it all month long. Swipe through to learn more about Alzheimer’s and how hospice care can help those managing a diagnosis.

We're taking a moment to remember and honor the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
With AAPI Month and Nurses Week both falling in May, we wanted to take the time to shout out one of our incredible nurses, Lusila Halafihi, a member of our team since October 2023 and a 2nd generation Tongan-American.
Lusila has been an RN for 6 years, taking a cue from her parents who moved to the U.S. from Tonga to help care for a sick family member. Her “why” motivates her to serve every patient with compassion, “Patients and their families become my family! Also, I get to be a hand to hold for those who need it most.”
When she isn’t working, Lusila enjoys spending time with her husband Aston and their four-year-old daughter, Aila.
We’re hiring! We’re currently looking for talented RNs and Clinical Supervisors in Sumter and Ridgeland, SC. Our core values center around providing quality care to our patients, and finding the right team to provide this care is vital. If you have a passion for caring for others, we would love to have you join our nursing team! Check out these opportunities today at our careers page: https://careers-agapecare.icims.com/

“My Daddy wanted nothing more than to be at home with his wife and his family and because of the wonderful care he received he was able to do that. He was able to enjoy listening to his music, eating his favorite foods and spending time with his family. We will forever be grateful. He was never in any pain and went home peacefully to be with the Lord. We miss him very much but we are left with beautiful memories. He is forever in our hearts until we are together again.” - Bridget, Aldwyn’s daughter
